That's exquisite - beautiful shaping, and I love the interior and engine detailing. Interesting to see that engine completely built from technic elements - makes me wonder about building microscale technic spaceships :) Actually, you could post the engine on its own as a microscale freighter!

How very observant of you, you're the first person to notice that ;-) It is wedged between the two sections, but is not very secure and is very annoying! The wheel is 4 wide so it's very tricky to attach it. I know there is a solution, using minifig hands and flexi pipe, but I'm not sure I can be bothered to solve, it means remodelling the front a bit. I might just cheat and use a sticker when I get the decals ;-) looks good though doesn't it? I was wondering where all my views were coming from lol

Hey, I was just looking at this magnificent creation of yours again, (like...the 100th time :) and I noticed that the front fenders are actually just sitting there on the cheese slopes. So, there's no real attachment there?

Oh dear your right, lol, guess that is what happens when you don't watch the show for a year. Next I will be saying the Mock 5 looks like the Toyota Corolla!

Breathtaking! One of my favorite racecars brought to life in fine detail. You've captured the look and feel of the car at such a relatively small scale. I'm especially impressed by the engine. If you haven't read Mark Donohue's book "The Unfair Advantage," I suggest you check it out. His chapter about racing the 917/30 is fantastic.

Wow, Tom, this one is awesome. I can't say which of your 917s I like more. The shaping of this roadster is great. The rear view is my favourite. I also like the compatibility with the Technic figure very much. But my favourite detail is definitely the engine. For me this Technic version looks even cooler than your original one. Great job! :-))

Oh yeah! There's only one now :-) Dark blue or purple are the only two colours that would come close to the right colour for this and I thought dark blue was the better of the two. The decals will fix the stripes and sponsors. Thanks for your comment!
