This is a new design based on the Viper's frame. A few changes here and there in the actual frame and the outer design is different as well.

About this creation

The BD-05F "Drake" is a next generation mecha based on the sucessful "Viper". This unit was however, designed only for arial combat with minimal equpment.

The "Drake" is a very expensive unit so there were only a handful units ever built. Despite that, the Drake is an excellent machine with incredible acceleration and mobility.
Tough the Drake stands taller than the standard Viper, it's still lighter and less armored. Only Ace pilots are allowed to use these machines to maximize it's battle potential.

The Drake's armament consists of two light auto cannons on the backpack and two Sub-machineguns.

yes there is indeed a drake (adult male duck) with a red head, it is the red crested polchard. but let's stick with the dragon reference for simplicity.

Ace Pilots... Red Colour Scheme... I see what you did there. Oh, fun fact, there is a Duck that does in fact have a Red Head, just saying.

Quoting andros tempest I think this is your best design to date, but doesn't Drake refer to a duck? I'd expect a green colour scheme. Unless you're inferring Drake as in the Olde English for Dragon, in which case yeah red is a good choice.

I don't know about the duck part, but I was refering to a Dragon, but since the naming "Dragon" is rather common, I decided to go along with "Drake".

Quoting Rabid Goldfish Very nicely made. I definitely like it, but it looks more heavily armored than the viper. I wonder if it appears that way because it's bigger, or if it actually looks heavier. Still nicely done, the wings were a nice touch, as was the red color. Can never go wrong with red. ^Blub^

It is taller, since I used some 1x1 round pieces with the holes to further hide the T-joints and the feets had to be modified as well. Making the same small improvements on the Viper would result in the same, tough I admit the armor does look a bit heavier, but the mecha itself isn't heavily armored.

Thank you, but you're wrong this time, there is no western in this mecha. It's another mix of various designs I like (just to name the mobile suits that inspired this: Sinanju, Over Flag, Strike Noir Gundam).
