The siege of Minas Tirith
This is my creation of the gate of Minas Tirith. Complete with orc, Gondorrian, and Haradrim armies, this creation is my latest and best LOTR yet(hopefully). The title picture is of Gandalf and Pippin arriving to the cities defense (just thought you might want to know). The evil armies of Sauran have decended upon the city fortress of Minas Tirith, the last stronghold of the Gondorrians. The fair city with strong Mithril gates and valiant defenders will be put to a test, facing hundreds of thousands of enemy soldiers. The great ram Grond, with the help of the armies captain, the fell witch king of Angmar, smashes down the gates of the first tier of defense, setting the defenders in a panicked retreat. Only Gandalf the white stands between the orc armies, and the city. I also built the base of the city using SNOT ddesigns, using up all my tan pieces for the wheat field, and all my green and brown pieces for the other half of the field, the tree, an underbrush. This build took me about 13 days total, having to constantly modify, and rebuild parts of the build. I actually had a different build, but didn't like it, so I smashed it, and built the much better model you se on this page. Hope you like it! Enjoy!
About this creation
The overview of the siege of the city, with archers on the walls raining down a deadly hellfire of arrows on the enemy.

A close up of the attack, with a few orcs on the walls.

Gandalf and the Witch King of Angmar face each other.

Gandalf in the smoted gate, facing the witch king.

The right gate tower, with a few Haradrim on the walls, being faught off.

The left gatehouse tower with a siege tower deploying orcs on the walls, soon to overwhelm the lone soldiers.

An archer crushed under stone from an orc catapult.

Haradrim archers behind cover.

The great ram Grond.

Another view of the gate.

A haradrim sets a tree alight.

The defenders fight off an orc that has gained the walls.

Defenders jabbing at enemy siege ladders and enemies climbing them.

The right gate house defenders fight off the Haradrim.

Archers on top off the right gatehouse.

The lone soldier on the left gatehouse.

A top view off the entire scene,

Another view off the arrival of Pippin and Gandalf, with peasants on either side of the road.
Pippin in the livery of the tower guard.

One of my favorite parts of the build, a crater from catapult boulders.
Another crater.

The scene with no minifigs.

The rear view of the fortress, and my favorite part of the whole build is the SNOT floor to the fortifications

The gondorrian armies with Gandalf and Pippin at the front.

The orc and Haradrim armies with the fell witch king of Angmar at the front, and the Haradrim at the rear.

cool moc, but it's kinda crowded and not very accurate with the book, or the movie

Cool MOC! I really like the SNOTted ground and the crater effects in that. The whole city looks packed and chaotic, just like the movies. The Witch King fig is really great: I haven't seen that helmet used for him yet - great choice! The smoothness of the inside is really professional looking too. My only qualm is that the outside action is less realistic. The trees are little blocky and there is an open stretch that lacks landscaping. But that is only a constructive criticism. You have some great skill with the brick, man. Great work!

There are some very cool aspects to this build! I love the SNOT ground with the craters built into it. My favorite scene is the arrival of Gandalf and Pippin. Seems serene...or foreboding

(this is Aidan Moon) I don't know how I missed this! It is very good, and instead of being overcrowded, on the contrary, the battle of Minas Tirith WAS crowded. Your minifigs are not bad at all, and the build is very good. Keep it up!

Quoting Hayden. (Zac.) Very good details, like the catapult holes! There's lots of action but Its a bit over crowded.

Some very nice details in there! I really like the SNOT ground too, though it lacks the detail you can give studs up groundwork. Overall, well done!
