About this creation

Here's my entry for round two of the Out Of Your Comfort Zone Contest. I received the category of underwater and decided to build a submersible discovering a sunken plane.

The plane lies on the sandy sea floor, oceanic plants and animals have begun to claim it as their home.

A shark consumes a fish.

What do you think of my stingray technique? I thought of this as soon as I saw the set and I'm glad I got to use it in this MOC.

How I hold up the fish. It's probably been done many times before, but I've never seen it.

The sub.

The plane. I seem to have done two things out of my comfort zone, underwater and aircraft. I really like how it turned out, although I'm not sure how accurate it is to real planes.

A wing.

Overhead view.

The wings fold! I'm not sure how useful that would be in a real aircraft, but it sure looks cool.

The submarine.

The back.

As this contest nears its conclusion I would like to thank Christian Hansen for inventing this competition, Quad and Vladimir R for judging it, and all the other contestants who helped make this fun. It's been an enjoyable few weeks and I've definitely learned a lot.
Thanks for stopping by!

Dude the plane needs bigger propellers like the largish 3-bladed one with technic hole (the round hole).

Sigh, I won't make SHIPtember, I'm afraid. Not enough parts. I already kinda revealed what it will be (see my newest MOC) I just need to conjure up some parts.....

Quoting Achintya Prasad Interesting. So this was Luke times ago! Love the touch of adding a skeleton pilot (maybe give him an aviator cap?) Also, I can't wait to see this ship you might be building; with your skill, you most certainly will put my latest and greatest to sh*me!
Haha, thanks Achintya. My next ship'll just be a little old-style wooden boat, not much of a looker. Of course, come SHIPtember I'll have something a bit bigger on the go... ;)

This is a very ambitious build. You captured the feeling of the sub floating over the wreck very well. I agree with previous comments that recommend a different color for the sub, all that gray sort of runs together. Definitely use more plants in the future, to enhance the notion of being under water and not simply in the desert. The plane could also be even more wrecked. It seems to have landed on the water, sunk to the bottom, and come to rest almost totally intact. The MOC reminds me of the film THUNDERBALL. If you haven't seen it, you should check it out. Attack!

Quoting Sebeus I I like the shark eating a fish, overall it would have been better if you picked a different color for the sub, it looks a bit like the wreckage itself :S
Yeah, I noticed that when I posted it as well. I'll keep that in mind for future builds!

I haven't recieved your mail, can you comment you-know-what on one of my creations (perhaps it's best to pick an older one so there aren't too many snoops :P )

Wow, the last creation in the contest is. . .just like all the other ones, amazing! I really like all the sea life making the plane their home, and the plane reminds me of the Bermuda triangle. Good job!

This final entry? Well judging this round is a lot faster than first one. Ok so points. Photo: 5/5 good job with background. Theme: 4/5 I think it was mentioned, it needs more underwater look. Build: 8/10. This build is really cool. I like that plane, but (there is always ,,but,,) maybe some details like propellers (should be larger) or front should be improved. I like folding wings, actually it is a lot usefull for storing planes. Overall: 17/10 Good luck!

Very nice, but i didn't think it looks very underwater-y, maybe more creeper plants growing up, or when you edited the background you could have added it to a under the sea picture.

Alright, the final entry in the contest. Photography: 5/5. I wonder why you didn't do the main pic with blue background like you did the other pictures, it really adds to that underwater feel. Theme Representation: 4/5. It' would have been nice to see some more coral and other details to be found on the ocean floor. Overall Build: 8/10. I really like that Sub but I think your airplanes could use some more work. Overall Score: 17/20. Good luck! .....Ah, now I can go to bed. :)

Nice scene! The props on the plane are undersized and I'm not real sure about that stabalizer, but the sub is very sleek and good-looking. The underwater feel is very good, especially since this out of your comfort zone.

I see quite a few things that could be added to the plane, but the sub is quite good. You might want to work a little more on irregular base shape, especially when dealing with sandy landscapes.
