Toothless the Nightfury
About this creation

This is my version of Toothless the Nightfury from Dreamwork's How to Train your DRAGON. This is my first lego creation to post on this account, and I am sad to say that the design is not completely my own. Stormbringer deserves almost all the credit for the head design. I would like to thank him for inspiring me to build some dragons.

This is an image from above him. You can see his multiple pairs of wings. The set can be purchased completely off of pick a brick. It also only uses standard building techniques.

He has a fairly good wingspan. Brick built wings are hard to make, but I am pleased with these. They aren't quite the right shape, but they can fold back and are fairly stable.

Here is my hiccup minifig. The hardest thing to find was his hair. I like the way he turned out, and he can easily ride toothless.

I hope to make the harness and prosthetic tail fin soon.

I was really glad when I finally bought a set with the fish piece. If you have seen the movie you know why. Now Toothless will spit the fish back up and make Hiccup eat it.

This shot shows the folded up mangler cannon. I really like this design. The weapon in the film shoots a bola which nocks toothless out of the air.

Here is a picture of the mangler unfolded.

All in all I like the build. I hope you do too. If you haven't seen the movie, watch it! Its not just a little kid movie. Also I will end with a small description of what a Nightfury is.

Night Fury:
Size: Unknown
Speed: Unknown

The unholy offspring of lightning and death itself. Never engage this dragon. Your only chance, hide and pray that it does not find you.....

Very cool! The head really brings it to life! I saw your request to join "The Dragon Council" and I appreciate it that you want to join, but you have to join a group called "Ministry of Mocists". Here's the link to the group: http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/19710

Thank you all for your willingness to rate and comment. As for the head frame, I am pretty sure its is not identical to Stormbringer's. He did not release instructions, but after staring at his moc from lots of different angles I discovered the magical secret (which for his sake I will NEVER reveal). The main difference is the ears. I used those 1x1 brick teeth while he used thinner horn pieces. I am working on a harness. Thanks for commenting.

The Hiccup mini-figure and his net catapult are my favorite parts. Good job on the dragon.

Yes I know, but I'm curious about the head frame. As far as I know I didn't offer instructions for it.

Quoting Stormbringer. However, I'm both happy and stunned to see that Toothless's head looks fairly similar to mine.
JD gave you credit. He even said it on the first picture of this MOC.

Sorry if I've taken long to get around this. This moc is pretty incredible for your first dragon. I also like his joints and legs. However, I'm both happy and stunned to see that Toothless's head looks fairly similar to mine..

It looks exactly like a Night Fury! Stormbringer is also an inspiration to me on dragons too. =P

Quoting Romany Woodhouse Hey there, I think you've captured the essence really well - I especially like how the head looks in the first couple of shots, really evokes the movie. Nice mangler too.
Thanks allot. I am pretty new so getting a first comment is pretty cool. I will be publishing a Scauldron next (probably).
