I am currently in the process of building my portfolio. While working in Albert Einstein I decided that I should do another iconic figure. This time I wanted to go the opposite direction and come out of the corner with a simple design and a limited color palette. Even though she was only 36 years old when she died fifty years ago, she became an instant American icon. The color palette, red, white, and blue was an easy and logical choice given who and what this woman was.
Marilyn would be 86 years old this year if she were still alive today.
Thanks for taking the time to check out my work. As always, feel free to leave any comments or ask any questions.

Wow, even with only three colors, I recognized it instantly... great work.
Thanks man! You'd be surprised at how difficult it really is to eliminate most of the features and reduce a face to exactly what makes it recognizable. I'm working on a few more projects like this one and I am not encountering the same degree of success. Though it is also difficult to find someone as iconic and instantly recognizable as Marilyn Monroe.
