Lego Wishing Well
Wishing well built for our wedding in 2009
About this creation
I built this wishing well for our wedding back in March 2009. It was a late decision to make one out of Lego, after the cardboard one we tried building ended up looking like a garbage bin.

I built it in a couple of hours on the weekend before the wedding. The Lego flags and the paper 'Wishing Well' flag were my fiancee's (now wife's) finishing touches.

This has been sitting on top of the bookshelf in the lounge room for the last three years without cleaning or covering up - It's irrevocably tied to our marriage now, so imagine how dusty it's going to be in another 50 years!

My wife painted these little Lego dogs to resemble our two dogs, who were in attendance at the wedding reception:

And here are the genuine articles on which the Lego dogs were based:

Close ups of the happy bride and groom:

And the (very, very dusty) tiled floor!

Quoting Tim C This is brilliant. I love the concept and I wish I could have seen this being featured at a wedding. Your execution of the many elements shown here is masterful. Great work.
Thanks Tim - it felt great to be able to have Lego play a small part in the wedding!

Quoting Paula G A gorgeous build for a beautiful occasion. A lovely keepsake :)
Thanks Paula. Nice and simple but that's one of the main reasons we both love it - apart from the obvious reason of course!

Quoting Kayne _ Oh wow! This is very cool! I'm surprised I missed when this was posted! Nice build, and very cool that it was for your wedding, and that you kept it.
Thanks Kayne, I'm a bit embarrassed it took me almost three years to photograph and post it - might have been a bit less dusty if I'd gotten into gear sooner!

Quoting JD Snyder Man, I can't believe no one has posted a comment yet! This thing is really good! I am glad you joined the group. Please use your amazing talent to fill our group with cool mocs. I forgot you that you have not built any dragons. I hope you will.
Thanks JD, I really appreciate the kind comments you're leaving! Started on my first dragon last night - it's not easy is it?
