Finally, I present to you my Trident Assault Craft. It is my first project that I designed in LDD, and then made with real Lego! I know I've said this already, but in case you didn't know it can stand on its own, the legs are posable, and the drill can spin. It has a few changes to the original design, including color changes (due to unavailability on Bricklink or price), as well as some minor piece changes. I strengthened the internal structure within the Trident Assault Craft's head, and I changed the length of the drill. Now that I've built it in real Lego, I want to make it an actual Lego set. I know that when many people saw this in the Star Wars the Clone Wars TV show, they thought that Lego was going to make one of these. But there's been no news that they are. So go to this link: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/8192, and support my project. This website is operated by Lego to help get fan based ideas for actual Lego products. When I've reached 10,000 supporters the design will be sent to the Lego group for consideration. While you're there be sure to check out other creations!

What a unique craft. I like the trans-green pieces that you threw in there. The shaping gives it a strong alien look. Makes me think of something from War of the Worlds.
It is a very unique looking craft, and has one of the coolest shapes from the Clone Wars series. To me, it resembles a "boxier" version of a squid haha. Thanks for your comment. |

OK, i already said this on your Part 1 version but now its finished. . . this is really EXCELLENT! . . . i'm in the process of building one of these - gonna 'try' and do an interior too - although its nowhere near complete yet. its good to see more high quality Separatist stuff appearing on MOC pages - well done!
Thanks! I cant wait to see yours! |

Very good. You should make one of those space things that drill into ships fro TCW. I can't remember what their called though. :P
They're called droch-class boarding ships. And thanks for the idea! |

Excellent work- very accurate. TLG should make this craft as a set. Only if you could've been able to add interior there also (exterior is nearly perfect) but it is of course hard because of those supports there- anyway good job! |

This is awesome! I love the clone wars. Although I must say, I think the Clone Wars crew had been watching Code Lyoko. This thing's design and abilities greatly resemble one of the monsters from season 4. When I first saw this thing in that episode where the seperatists attempted to take over the clone's home planet. (name escaped me while typing this)
anyway, awesome job on this!
Here's that monster that I think this thing drew inspiration from: http://codelyoko.wikia.com/wiki/Kalamar
similarities: Similar shape, moves like a squid, they both have a drill on the underside of their "main" sections. Even the placement of the "Window" is very close to the Eye of Xana on this thing. |
