Hero Factory - The "Rookie" Trio
Once they were the rookies of the Hero Factory, now the write history as heroes!
About this creation
A few weeks ago I decided to built Furno a MOC, but I didn't had the time to upload it. After creating MOCs of Surge and Breez as well, I realized that I got custom versions of the rookie trio of the first wave, so I decided to upload them as a trio.

Furno the fiery Samurai
I guess it were those awesome swords from Breez's newest version which finally gave me the inspiration to create a Furno MOC. Actually, I had intended to put as much awesome stuff as possible because of the Rule of Cool, but there were still various things I dropped because he would had looked overcharged with them (like Breez' fantastic shield... and her launcher too, actually).
I also used Furno as an opportunity to use various red parts of my collection. While I like red as a colour, I don't have that often ideas to actually use red. As a result, Furno got various red bone pieces, including the torso skeleton.
Furno's design was mostly based on Furno 3.0 with a few elements taken from his first version.
And on a totally unrelated side-note, Furno is the only reason why all three members got those silly titles (like fiery Samurai).

Usually I pose him with both swords in one hand (just the same way as 3.0 hold his bow - or the original Furno his fire blades!)...

...but sometimes he fight with only one sword like a samurai...

...or with one sword in each hand.

Since Furno is a fiery Samurai, he also got one of those flame thingies on his back.

His shoulder armour is attached in a rather easy way - I'm actually sure it's absolutely nothing special and millions of people already did that before me, but hey, I just found it out, I like it, and I want to share my joy with you about that.
By the way, I actually ordered via BrickLink another pair of these to give another MOC of mine also bulky bad ass shoulders. You're asking for which one? Well, I ordered them in white, so guess...

And finally, a picture of his back armour piece in case you want to try it yourself. Be aware that the shell doesn't fit as tight as it would when you attach it to the limb piece itself.

Breez the briskly Scout
Once I noticed that the narrower torso skeleton has the same size dimensions as my so-called Kiina-build, I wanted to build a female character with it, and who would be better suited for that than Breez herself?
At first I wanted to give her a design similiar to Samus Aran (simply because her Breakout version looks a lot like Samus Aran, only in green), but while building her I eventually ended up with a rather sleek design which was inspired by a certain female Autobot. Aside from this, I choose her weaponry and such mostly in reference to her 2.0 version.

Breez is a master at close combat...

...thanks to the sharp blades at her forearms...

...and her powerful kicks.

If the baddies try to run away from her, she'll stop them with her wrist-mounted arm cannons!

Breez uses the same front armour as Leviathan, a Toa Inika shoulder armour piece. Since I'm not too fond of lime green and bright red as a combined colour scheme, I reduced the amount of red on my version of Breez to the head and her heartlight (which I only threw in to put something on the gap there).
The Inika shoulder does not only give Breez an overall more feminine look, it also delivers more diversity to the trio, since Surge and Furno also don't share the same torso armour.

Breez maintained her backpack from her Breakout version, since the 1.0 HF-feet works fantastic here (actually, I wish TLG would put it into the pick-a-brick service).

Thanks to the superior poseability of the 2.0 limbs, more playful poses like this are even easier to pull off. But I guess you were already waiting for a picture like this, weren't you?

*PAWNCH*
But you don't want to mess around with her, since she's making you regret that!

Surge the strong Warrior
The idea to give Surge two massive arm cannon-like weapons was born out of necessity. While I do own a Surge 2.0, I already used his hands for Optimus (and in addition to that, most of the blue shells of him for ZORK), so I thought: "Why not giving him two large weapons which would cover his hands anyway?"
Surge's design is mostly inspired by his Breakout version, although I also changed his colours a bit, mostly because I wanted to combine Thornraxx' azure with Surge bright blue, and what can I say... it works fantastic.

Basically, he still has the same weapons as in his Breakout version - only much bulkier.

Since the new launcher wouldn't had fit here (and also doesn't shoots projectiles so well) I went with the Glatorian-styled launcher.

On his left arm, he got a powered-up thunder blade to zapp pesky baddies.

Finally I got the time to use that odd piece from the Droid Developer Kit for something, yay!
(Yes, I'm aware it's kind of a waste to use it as back armour since it could be also used for various mechanics in technic builds, but... I don't care about that)

These two pictures...

...are supposed to show you how I built the arms. Since the armour is attached on the ball joint at the front, it's poseable enough to allow Surge dramatic poses with his arms, and the weapons restricts their poseability just enough.

Finally, a picture of the trio with their master and mentor, Preston Stormer!

So well, I hope you like these guys.

Odds are good that I'll return soon with new MOCs, so stay tuned!

Surge is alright, but furno I don't really like. To me it just looks like a super armored 3.0. If it were slightly more custom, then I probably like it better. Anyways, my favorite of the three if breeze (don't take that the wrong way). You did a great job at hiding the HF skeleton, which I always have a hard time doing. Somehow I didn't see that one picture coming, but once I saw it, It all made sense. Also, on several occasions you said Metru shoulder, but I think you meant Inika/Mahri shoulder armor.

Sadly, I can't tell what needs to be done, I wish I could though.

First of all, thanks for the comments! @Chronos Omega: Yes, Breez was inspired by Arcee. @Cheesy: I agree that Furno could benefit from a few more elements, but I wasn't sure what I should've give him to improve him. Any suggestions? And yes, I meant Inika shoulder - mistakes like these happen when I decide to add a creation at 01:00 AM. XD

Furno is well made with tons of red parts. Like the concept with samurai. Breeze looks feminine and she is well made. Surges colors mash good. All in all, if Lego made such a theme "Warrior" for 6.0 sets, it would have worked. Especially using more bionicle parts.

Nice, reminds me a bit of Sparkytron's rookie trio. Anyway, I like the addition of dark azure to Surge, and the Arcee inspiration on Breez. Uh... I think you watch TF:P, right?
