IMW TORK 280g
redesign X-Wing moc custom LEGO Star Wars ship
About this creation
IMW --- TORK 280g ---
Built on 05.03+04.2007 by brickolisti. It was meant to enter in the fbtb x-wing contest, that I found in the net just one day earlier on the 2nd of may. Due to accounting problems on fbtb, I was not able to enter.

The situation:
After several severe combat situations, repeatedly critics on the X-Wing performance could not be ignored furthermore. Those pilots, who still could report after severe fight situations, pointed on similar problems again and again.
- sad manoeuvrability
In high speed atmospheric flight, the tremendous stability of the X-Wing’s wing design hindered from performing fast turns. As agility of imperial droid systems increases largely, that felt and was really scary
- weak shielding
Full propgen load for maximum shielding power would decrease both, speed and firepower, significantly. Cliwo Gra Groyo, high decorated Captain of rebel forces, put it on that point: "just decide whether you want to be nuked or laught after."
- insufficient arms
When dealing with larger structures. The still very good performance of the beam used on smaller sized ships would be not enough for the future, as development in the imperial star destroyer class of ships show.

The mission:
Therefore the rebel council on tech issues decided to advice the IMW (improved mover works), a newly founded naboo / gungan / rebel engineering team, to work out a collaborate X-Wing. Imperial thinking went big is beautiful. There had an answer to be given. The joint effort lead to a unique superior ship named TORK 280g.

The ship:
- Shield
The perhaps biggest improvement is the new mobile gungan propgen. It supplies full gungan class shielding facilities without interfering to the ships general energy system. In full move wing positioning, it even could provide fellow ships with disposal shielding in a beam to stay manner.
- Arms
Several newly developed independent weapon systems were integrated and jointly operated by R2D2´s operating unit. Specialised programming and both gungan and naboo operation units linked in were his base on controlling four separate targeting modules. The large naboo beams mounted on the lower wings needed full 36 seconds to reload. Their destructive capability of 0.038727 jood was sufficient for hardly every structure and loaded enough to just make that structure disappear in a whiplash.
- Engine and Broom
The design of TORK´s power supply and movement aggregation was developed by a rebel engineering team from Bathoon. While reusing four of the still outrageous X-Wing fusors for energy supply, the brooms were prototypes for a much larger ship and pleased test pilots.
- Wings
Revolutionary flexible design made the temper of TORK 280g change in part of a second. From straight track flight "on rails" to turn on point manoeuvre in every direction, the athmo flight stats where surprising. Hyper movement with up to 4 l bundled in made the TORK 280g the most complete and compelling small ship ever.

The ship is excellent, but the pictures are too small (except for the one of the engines).
