It's been a while since my last vignette, so here's another one! This is my entry for the "Lego Biblical MOCs Contest". Samson is believed to be the strongest man who ever lived. His story is recorded in the book of Judges in the Old Testament. This particular build depicts the event of Samson's death, in which he also killed many of his enemies (the Philistines). God enabled him to have incredible strength, so long as he didn't cut his hair. I enjoyed playing with a lot of new techniques here, and added a flexible fig. I also used clear Lego tubing from the light-up Exo-force guns to hold the cracking pillar segments together (on the odd chance that you were wondering). Thanks for viewing!
About this creation
This is my Old Testament entry for the Lego Biblical MOCs Contest.
My New Testament entry can be viewed here.

Then Samson reached toward the two central pillars on which the temple stood. Bracing himself against them, his right hand on the one and his left hand on the other, Samson said, "Let me die with the Philistines!" Then he pushed with all his might, and down came the temple on the rulers and all the people in it. Thus he killed many more when he died than while he lived. (Judges 16:29-30, NIV)

Prior to this scene: Then the Philistines seized him, gouged out his eyes and took him down to Gaza. Binding him with bronze shackles, they set him to grinding in the prison. (Judges 16:21, NIV)
Special thanks to my three younger sisters for helping me decide which biblical scene to build.

It's always cool when a static object can portray a sense of motion, and that's what your pillars do. I can sense them falling. Cool effect, and nice job. |

Very nice! You squeezed a lot of emotion into such a small build. By the way, what are flexible figs, and how do you get/make them? :D
Thanks for commenting! And checkout this link, it displays the concept of Flexible Figs:

Man, what a character Samson was! Killing Philistines with a donkey jaw-bone, taking on a lion as a teen, displeasing everyone (including God), and finally gaining redemption through his death. Your little vig captures the spirit of Samson's story perfectly! Great job, Ian! |

Stay away from Delilah especially when she has shears in her hand!
I actually had originally designed a Delilah fig for the MOC, but I didn't end up adding her. Her fig may make a reappearance in future projects though. Thanks for the comment sir! |
