'Big Hook' Railroad Crane [First Draft]
About this creation

My first attempt at making a lego "big hook" crane. It came out pretty good, but it just doesn't look right being all black (even though most are all black in real life). So I'm going to have to play around with adding some kind of colored trim. Also the bend in the crane arm is much too sharp, I'm going to have to come up with a solution to that, so the hook can actually hang from the crane. I also did not have any smaller baseplates to make the flat car with. The final version of this will have a shorter flat car, and I'll stick some old 4.5v wheelsets on there to make it look even better.

Another problem with this crane is that there's a lot of overhang around corners from the crane arm. The pivot of the crane cab is pretty durable, so I might have to attach the end of the arm to the flat car and have the cab of the crane move as it goes around corners. Which is NOT at all realistic, but if I don't, I don't think the crane will be able to make it around my layout.
