Hello and welcome back to my somewhat-disturbing porsche 917 obsession. This is a rework of the previous 917 (see other creations), with some fancy LDD-extended-edition colours on it. The whole thing only took a couple of hours, but still a lot longer than i thought it would! Anyway, read on. :)

Anyway, this is a picture of the real-life BEAST of a machine, with a 1,500hp engine+crammed into a lightweight body shell=200+mph deathtrap. Still you gotta love the car, I mean this has 300bhp MORE than a Bugatti Veyron SS, and this is what, 45-50 years old. That amount of power is what you would find in a Lotus Evora, on top of the already-ludicrous 1,200hp in a ss. You gotta respect this car...
Sorry about the poorness of the pictures and general squished-look, it was an experiment gone BADLY wrong. If you can get around that, then, much appreciated. I think i captured the gouged-out headlights look, and the colour scheme isn't too bad, but the wheel arches let the side down. Notice the variable-deep-pan wheels. Authentic feature!
From here, you really get the actual size of that titanic rear spoiler. The paint scheme goes a little awry here but i tried to keep it as real as possible.
Ah, the legendary three-quarter view. Not let down by the whopping great tires and the inset rear exhaust pipes, which were a pain to fit in the right place, right behind the rear wheels, but i just about managed it, but it prevented any more scaffolding :(
No funky scaffolding here, just a good shot of those weird front not-quite-headlight headlights. You can also sorta see the tiny cab and the hinging head supports (not authentic, but soooooooooooo much easier than mounting them somewhere else).
Hallelujah! I have been saved by the mighty force that is... SCAFFOLDING! From here you also get a better view of those exhaust pipes and the rear wing assembly. More internal gubbins coming up soon...
This is meant to be the engine, extracted from the car. This is a developed version of the flat-12 found in my other Porsches, but darker and with a different fan and top.
Now here is some pics with the engine cover removed, and you can begin to see some of the exhaust system and the engine gubbins.

Cool I live in England too :-) Maybe you could buy it off me? Or saying that if you can supply an inventory of what pieces you'd need I'd consider selling you the pieces so you can build it for yourself, it is your creation afterall lol Reply on my version or I might miss your comment ;-) |

Thanks everyone for the good comments! Really appreciate it! And yeah, De Tomaso, give it a go, i'd love to see what your interpretation of it was like. And yes, i would love to buy it, but LDD is not selling right now, and i'm not sure where to get bricks from. Any good ideas? (based in England) |

I love the Porsche 917 and this one is really great, especially for the rather small scale. Engine and suspension are my favourite details. I'd really like to see this build with bricks! Great job! :-)) |
