Piece of junk, you say? She'll make .5 past light speed, I say. The X in X-1 is to mark this work as experimental, as that was what this build largely was. It was not a build for aesthetic purposes, but to fullfill a number of objectives. The first was to build a larger ship than my first. The second was to make practical use of the Millenium Falcon's cockpit. The third was to try my hand at SNOT wings. The fourth, to make an attempt at greebles. And the fifth was customized rear thrusters. All in all, I am pretty satisfied with the results, (aside from the very flat look of the thrusters), but I would also like to get the takes of some of the more accomplished builders out there. Thanks for checking it out. Let me know what you think.

Although, as you say, not asthetically pleasing, this ship exemplifies some great building techniques and it uses that window, which is, in my opinion, one of the toughest to use and most annoying peices in the lego universe. Congrats on that. And don't write looks off quite yet ;) This ship is kind of growing on me, not to mention it does bear an unintentional resemblence to an actual star wars cruiser. Overall a nice build.
Thanks for all the comments lately. I'm glad you're able to find the qualities in this. It is my largest ship to date, but probably also the ugliest. I'm working on something that will hopefully be bigger and better looking. But yes, that canopy is just ridiculous. I don't even want to mention how long I spent mulling that one over. |

This build is incredible. Tastefully detailed all a round. Great cockpit image. Well done.
Wow! Thanks a lot. Hopefully, I'll reach the skill level, (and collection), of those BSG ships you build. |

All sorts of nifty action going on here, Dude! I see the Star Wars connection, naturally, but it also reminds me of the Phoenix from Trek, and even a little Battlestar Valkyrie in there. Wicked! |

awesome! I liked the cockpit hinge; I've never seen it before! Just a question: What does SNOT stand for?
Thanks. I was thrilled with the cockpit. The set it came from just has it detaching from the ship to let the pilot out! SNOT stands for Studs Not On Top. |

WOW — that's very cool. The design is very reminiscent of a Corellian Engineering Corporation design, with the cockpit obviously being Millennium-Falcon-esque and the rear having elements of the Corellian CR-90 Corvette. I don't know if you're as big a Star Wars geek as I am, so I don't know if that was intentional or not, but it's a very great build. I'd love to see a building guide if you used LDraw or LDD!
Thanks. I'm glad you like it! I am a huge Star Wars geek, but I think you have me beat. I'm not sure what a Corellian Corvette looks like. I would love to show you the building guide of any of my designs, but I'm a hands-on builder, and my MOCs start with a single concept and grow from there, and I couldn't keep up with my designs enough to manually make a guide for them. |

This is hardly a comment from one of the more accomplished builders out there, but I'd say you've succeeded on all your objectives - and it still looks charismatically ugly (that's a compliment!), which is a bonus. Great use of techniques - I want to embark on a similar project soon. |

You realise now you've tried SNOT, your life as you know it is over? ;)
A good start, and you seem to have achieved your objectives - the wings look good, and I love the cockpit setup. Nice greebles too (another serious addiction you'll now find you've got!) As you said, the thrusters are a little hidden, but overall a very nice design/MOC! Looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks a lot, Jon. When it comes to LEGO, is there a difference between addiction and obsession? Hmmm.
