A Very Good Tale’s Welcome!
About this creation
“A very good tale!” said he. “The best I have heard for a long while.
If all beggars could tell such a good one, they might find me kinder.
You may be making it all up, of course, but you deserve a supper for the story all the same. Let’s have something to eat!”
A Table Set For Fifteen Guest Travelers

Bilbo Baggins, Beorn, and Gandalf

With a bit of photo editing on 12/07/2012, Gandalf became 'The Grey'!
(He was build in blue!)

Excellent job Stove;)
Thanx, Like I told Cody, I didn't know of a piece I could use for a hand. But, I may have found something now? I'm going to order a few to check them out. Only trouble is... I've dismantled the whole set already! Waaaa! :) |

Nicely done! What's on the menu?
Mostly honey! Beorn was a shapeshifter who could turn into a bear, or as some kids say... a werebear. Thanx for the comment! I'm trying to experiment with different types/themes of building. :) |

Nicely done, I like your Beorn figure, and the color of the floor is very interesting. Where did you get so much of it?
Thanx, I just wish I could have had a piece for a hand, but I wasn't aware of any that would fit on a hinge piece. Anywho, the floor is a large baseplate from, I believe, an old Belville set. Thanx again! :) |

I love the what you did with the palm trunk pieces! They make great pillars.
Well, those are pieces I just seemed to accumulate and never had much use for, guess that's why I also used palm fronds in my Earth Dragon Bionicle's wings? Oh, my... all this palm talk made me recall a certain comment I made on one of your recent creations! :) |

I see improvement! I like the wooden back wall. Mmm...recognize that chest design!

Thanx, well I wasn't sure if I needed to give you credit as I changed so much of your design in the arms, with the lenghtening of torso & legs, and with the reversal of the legs pieces. So, here it is for are the world, hee, hee... LEGO BUILDERS WERE MY INSPIRATION FOR THE CHEST DESIGN!!! I'm honored you noticed! :) |

A fine repast - and there's enough of the hall to give it atmosphere. Great!
Thanx, Nick... I tried to stay as close as possible to Tolkiens's 'feel' of the room, but yah know... I just HAD to add some cushions on those log stools! Most bums like soft seating... hee, hee! :) |

I like how you captured the warmth of the hall. I can imagine a host of dwarves singing and drinking around the fire.
Maybe it is from the roaring fire.
Maybe the warm colored roof and red tinged floor add to the cheeriness?
Maybe because it was photographed on a stove?
Oh, it must be because it was photographed on a stove! Actually... I took those at night with only the stove's overhead light & 3 small pendant lights that are to the right. The overhead lights & undercabinets were off and I used no flash! I had taken pix during the day but it was a rainy grey day and the light effect was interesting. BUT... yes, I like this one better. Thanx for your lovely comments! :) |

Nice build with nice details. I especially like how you did the wall with those palm trees as columns.
Thanx... I have used those before as deck pole supports in my MIT Round 1 --- StoveTop Creator vs Derek Berdine build. :) |

Beorn's design is very interesting! I like the head you chose for him! I think people should make more HOBBIT MOCs!
Thanx for your comment... yes, I probably like the hobbit story the best. I guess the LOTR trilogy gives people more ideas for builds. But there are a few good moments from 'The Hobbit' that are worth showing in brick! :) |
