LEGO Death Star
3500 piece custom Death Star - NOT exactly minifig scale (a minifig scale Death Star would be approximately 75 feet high lol), but is built to fit minifigs. 6 Levels, stacks up and also hinges open.

JOE QUIRK Quoted: "that is not minfig scale and it looks ugly like a deflated football"
You would NOT be smart attempting a minifigure scale Death Star. It would Be Easier To Make a Football Field (Excluding The Goal Posts)

Big, detailed, but this is a Lego MOC website. Since you admit using a LOT of Megablocks parts, may I suggest finding a Megablock MOC site for this? Still nice though, even if you "cheated", lol.

OK, so I'm reviewing my own creation, mainly because I wanted to put a note and didn't see where the EDIT button was to edit the original posting.
Anyhow, this is to say that I would happily make this thing twice the size (probably keeping what I have intact but just adding a large middle section creating two new floors and filling out the look of the sphere) - I just need more pieces.
The key ingredient is the MegaBloks USS Kittyhawk aircraft carrier - two were used in the construction of this model (along with the Destroyer model). They are perfect because the nice flat black flight deck pieces make the perfect flooring for the Death Star, and the sets are chock full of grey blocks.
So this is a shameless grovel to anyone who has one of those aircraft carrier sets and wants to donate it / sell it cheap to me, for the cause. :)
With one more carrier, I can add two floors to the middle and make the model quite a bit larger, with two or more carriers I could really go nuts.
My dream would be to have this Death Star about 3 to 4 feet tall, with perhaps 8 to 10 levels inside. I would love to be able to dock the real Millenium Falcon lego model inside it along with a tie fighter. How cool would that be?
Thanks again everyone for the kind reviews!

GOOD! It isn't the perfect copy of the Death Star, however it's one of the best customized creations I've ever seen! Excellent job.

Not as round as it should be, and a bit too blocky; however, I can't give something that required so much work anything less than a five. Nice job. Lee.

anyone who wants to make a "minifig" scale death star can do the math and kill themselves trying! lol this a good little set though.
