first supercar. Was very fun to make. I was going to make it convertible, but it was a little off scale and just looked crappy. a bit heavy so the RC isn't the best.. working on the shell now and it is VERY frustrating.
Thanks... and as for the slipping gears: Coming from a non-motorized car, Tyler Reid probably never bothered with slippage or anything of the sort. If that's what you want to do, make sure your gears are on both flat sides enclosed by a single beam, such as this -> |:| (the colon is two gears). This way, your gears cannot slip whatsoever. Of course, if you're applying LPEs or anything of the sort, you're messing with forces that will easily break 8tooth gears or even the bigger ones, depending on the pressure behind it... what I'm trying to say: It's not completely failsafe, but it will prevent slipping 100% ;)
As for the RC, if you experience problems with performance, try adding a XL motor for the drive - the battery box can actually handle 2 XLs + 1 M, so you'll be on the better side there. Personally, I like to not use a differential to synchronize them (as they usually don't run as uneven as the old motors did), which gives them a better punch. That's what I used in a few of my MOCs, if you feel like checking those out.
As far as the transmission goes, while the one you used certainly is a good one, the SLR never came with a manual gearbox, so I'm not quite sure it's fitting. Personally, I don't care for realism that much, I'm just pointing it out in case you try to be 100% accurate ;)
Take care, and good luck with the shell.
Aha! This was the first car I ever tried building in technic, and I've never seen one on MOCpages, unfortunately mine went horribly wrong but it looks like you're off to a flying start! All the functions look very compact and well put together. Overall very impressive
