LTM-O Jetkiller
Does what it says on the box...
About this creation
This is my entry for LTE's Mecha Contests.

Legopolis Tech's first LTM-Orc is named after what it does. It kills jets. Well, it's designed to take down most aircraft including helicopters, Hummingbirds, aerial mechs and, of course, jets.

This model has it's unit/rank showing, however this can be turned off. Although it's armour looks thin it can take quite a beating because it's made of a protomag alloy, whih not only deflects ballistic attacks, it can absorb energy from some energy weapons.

It's main weapon is a scoped railgun. This particular model of railgun fires a stream of medium sized projectiles to create what had been dubbed by one of our engineers as a 'ballistic laser'. It use clips and the Jetkiller stores two spares on it's leg.

The railgun could take down a jet, sure, but what if there are multiple targets? That's where the MekPak mounted miniguns come it. They are AI controlled, so the pilot only needs to target an aircraft (they have trouble aiming at targets level with or below them) and they will plug away. They can target and firs independently of each other. Their clips need to be replaced by a support mech.

The final weapon the Jetkiller's arsenal is a SMG that it keeps stored on it's leg. This is used for fending of other mechs who get too close. It also has clips and there are four spares on the sides of the torso.

In the two above images you can see the handheld weapons.

Quoting Marcus Jackson Do those legs even bend? I haven't opened the file yet, but the way you've presented it doesn't show that they do.
Yeah you're right actually I didn't notice. Even if it's not shown you can check this in the LXF that they do bend. There are single axis hinges which in my opinion are easier to build into the armour, and it's more similar to a human knee.

The head is too long, the feet are too long, ill give you a plus on the weapons, SMG clips under the armpits? The legs are too primitive... or naive or something... Uh... 3/5

I'd say the weapons are pretty good and the head's size is perfect (just needs to be 1 stud wider I think) and the color scheme is good too. However I have to agree with others, it's too "avarage" looking, tough the idea was good. 3/5

This is cool. I like it. But as people have said before me, it's more average material, not as much of a "wow, you just blew my mind!" kind of mecha. Plus, I don't think those legs bend realistically. 3.5/5.

Quoting ariklego ...The Director! well, it's decent. perhaps it's just your personal building method, but I can't help but notice that the Jetkiller is almost exactly same as the Orc base, with only the slightest of changes. perhaps it's just personal preference, as my usual method is to use a frame (and thus every design turns out drastically different), but I still kinda dislike it. that aside, it's pretty nice. I have a few issues, though. the head's too long and too thin, the feets are the same, and while the knee joint is brilliantly creative, it just doesn't look very good. and while the color scheme is okay, somehow it just doesn't fit. however, I absolutely love the railgun. VERY creative, and with a slightly better color scheme, it'd easily be just as good (perhaps better) as anything Chunk or Bio has ever come up with. I'll give it a 3.5/5
Thanks. I was having trouble with colouring this, but I reverted to jungle camo for lack of time.

Quoting BiO.Andrew (APMS-1 Series in progress!) Okay, now this is truely bizarre. You've mimicked what will soon be my entry to the contest, as far as the weapons go. I was going to have a railgun sniper rifle and backup SMG... Have I mentioned that anywhere? I'm sure I only told chunk about it... Anyways, like andros said, this seems to be kinda average, so I give it a 3/5.
Really? I don't remember you posting it anywhere. Odd.

I know =D

An good effort, but looks too much like some of BiO's works. Plus the head is far too small. 3/5

It's certainly a simple design, I actually like the back to basics approach. The colour choices say military very well, and I'm quite impressed with the weapon designs. Some interesting effects to demonstrate the weapons in action too. It's not the most inspired design in the contest, which is why, while I genuinely like it, I'm going to have to give it an "average" score. 3.5/5. nice, but not rocking my casbah
