About this creation
My second MOC for the Classic Race team group. This time a race car transporter that hopefully is just as beautiful as the other transporters.
Next on my list is building a Ferrari 512M to fit in it.
This truck is by FAR the biggest (non-Technic) vehicle that I have ever made. It's 58 studs long, 22 studs wide and 28 studs (not plates) high. The truck weights about 3 KG. It is so 'light' because of the SNOT I used.
The truck has:
- Opening doors from the cabin
- Working V8 engine
- Adjustable cabin seats
- 4 storage bins
- Opening doors to the car area
- Working steering
- Removable roof
- Opening tailgate
The SNOT technique not only makes the truck lighter, it also makes is easier to do the writings on the side. It says:
Ferrari 512
Gelo
Yeah, I know that on the real car stands:
Ferrari 512M
Gelo Racing team
but that was just to long for me to create with Lego... :/
Everything opens on both sides. I also filled the storage bins with some things
Did you recognise the Ferrari logo? It was really hard to do and I'm not sure if it looks good.
Of course the rear ramp opens. The lower 'deck' will fit cars up to 20 studs wide, but the than the cars can't be very high. The upper 'deck' fits car up to 18 studs wide that can be a little higher than the lower cars.
Please note the steering knob.
The top box also fits a lot of stuff. Together with the parts from the parts from the storages bins on the side the truck will fit: 4 spare tires, 2 gas cylinders, some fences (small & big), a box with tools, a crate with more tools, a cart with even more tools, a bin with a broom and shovel, a cart with chaines, a spare steering wheel, the engine for my Ferrari 512M (until I start building the car) and 2 cars (not builded yet.....).
And now some photos of the transporter and the car together.

I also added the LDD file. I couldn't do everything about the cabin right (doors, mirrors, headlights, engine), but you'll be able to do that yourself by using the photos.
Don't forget to tell me your opinion or rate!! :-D

it is really sad that you had to take the awesome transport truck apart :( but at least you have the lld file :), by the way you said your not sure if the logo one the back is good? it is!!! i don't know anyone else who put that much effort on a picture in a model (unless it was a mosaic) great job!!! |

Two quality MOCs in one. The details really make this model. The lettering and badge on the truck are impressive.
Thanks! Right now this truck is already taken apart, but I'm working on a other classic race car transporter. That one won't have closed bodywork, but it will be longer than this one so it can hold 7 cars! But it's going to take a while: on the moment I only have the cabin done..... |

Yes, I mean the horse! In this size it's like sprite design on a C64, a really tough job! But the lettering is cool, too! |

The best transporter I've seen so far! I think the transporter is a bit on the short side here, but it does give it that unique stubby shape which i like. The lettering and stripes on the side are fantastic! 5/5 :D |

This is INCREDIBLE! Firstly the shape and details are really accurate (and I love the full-stud bodywork) - but lots of people can do that. What you've managed is to team the detailed looks with great functionality. The opening storage areas for example, are the neatest I've seen on anyone's transporter so far. This is an exceptional build, amongst the best on MOCpages. 10/10 : )

Back for a second look. Yup, this is my favourite Transporter so far : )
Thanks!! I must say that i am very proud of this truck, but I don't know if it's my favorite? I think the other transporters are at least as good as mine. But anyway I am really, really happy to hear that you like it so much!! :-) |

Thomas this is fantastic. The studded snot bodywork is beautiful and the logos are fabulous – A real treat for a Lego purist like me. Like mine this must be quite light for its size. Excellent all around job and a real asset to the group. These transporters are a challenge to build and you have done a marvellous job. Congrats :) |

Stunning work Thomas! I love this! The studded look really suits it and all the details you crammed in are marvelous. It kind of reminds me of a modified removals lorry. Which is basically what it is. Can't wait to see the 512 to go in it! I've very nearly finished my new transporter, just a few last details to do, it looks menacing :-) I think I might build a car for it before I post it. What do you think? |
