MOC Hero Factory Vincent Praxis
New to here, so here's my first MOC, Hero Factory Praxis.
About this creation
Hello all, I'm new here, but growing up with legos, I've regained my urges to create. When Bionicle came out, it was the time I had to stop buying the sets, for reasons that's another story altogether. Yet ever since they frist came out I've waited for them to create a small enough figure with flexiblity like a G.I. Joe action figure. Sadly bionicle ended, so I'm left with Hero Factory, so with time spend slowly gathering parts, here he is,

Vincent Praxis

In my little story for him, most of the villians that broke out are arrested once again, yet the more cunning villians are still out there, and worse, someone is ripping hero cores right off the heroes! As the hero team try to regroup and recover yet another blow to them, Vincent Praxis steps up, arms himself with new armor that hides the hero core inside, and sets out to assist the remaining team.

Behind the armor plate, is a older model hero core to power Praxis's abilities

Back flap opens up to access his other weapons

Twin sicmar blades!

Praxis is armed with twin sicmar blades, short chain cuffs, hidden core armor, and never leaves home without his dual punch energy daggers. thou he's inexperinced, he makes up for that by being the most daring of the hero's, pulling off stunts that could easily kill him. His thrill seeking is what got him to be a hero in the first place, but it also worries the veterans of the team. More lego creations are to come! (perhaps?)

Just to show he uses blasters too

FREEZE!

Praxis: What's the point of these? I know we gotta arrest the villians, but I usually just beat them till they can't move anymore, then just drag them back....

A little hint at what else I did. You can figure who it is, but the more people ask, the sooner I will post it. Cause this is my first MOC, comments of any kind would be very helpful. Till then, there is more to come, so see you around folks and hope you enjoyed this as much as I did building him.

Quoting Chronos Omega I think we should also include a rule about using purple and green, as those colors have been included in Superheroes sets. Maybe say that you can build MOCs of those colors, just not use the actual HF armor parts in those colors? Oh, and also a rule against painted parts. If I don't hear back from you soon I'm gonna assume that you're fine with my rules and go ahead and create the contest anyway. :)
If you want a rule against having people not painting parts, the you should allow them to use armor parts from the SuperHeroes line. As lame as they are, they are still lego, and allowing more freedom for the purist builders. So no the frist suggestion, yes to the last one.

Quoting Ro Garcia
I was thinking that you and I could both judge (but probably just us two, with no third judge). Also, I don't know if I'd mandate a wacky color scheme, just make it a criteria that you use one. As for the contest name, maybe we should call it "HF: Gear Up" or something similar?

Quoting Ro Garcia Run with it dude, it sounds like it would be interesting, but I think they also need to not use the standard frames that Lego sells, otherwise people are just gonna ignore them. As for odd color schemes, how does these sound? Purple and white, pink and yellow, orange and pale yellow, fusa and parrywhinle purple, blue and rainbow colors... >:)
Okay, thanks. :) I think the criteria should be these: 1) The primary color is one that has not yet been used on an HF set. 2) The design does not use a standard torso of any kind, be it Bionicle, HF, or something else. 3) The Hero or villain must be suited to a specific environment (for example mountain or arctic) and have equipment adapted to this environment (for example rock climbing gear or skates). We need a contest name, as well. So yeah, if that's all, I'll set up the group.
If anything, the contest should be something like "It's time to Hero up or Shut-up" or the "Heroes gear up" contest, concidering we wanna have heroes with more equipment... are the judges just us two or just you? Also, don't forget my suggested catagories...

Quoting Chronos Omega Wait... what hero has climbing gear? Oh well... maybe it would take a while, but we could organize a major HF contest, with several varied categories, including what I mentioned along with your vehicle contest ideas. Not to sound like I only care about my ideas, but I really like the unusual color theme. What do you think of that aspect specifically?

Quoting Chronos Omega Okay Ro, about that contest. I had a few ideas. My two top ideas were: 1. Build a hero MOC in a color that has never been used before as a hero's primary color, for example tan, dark green, or light blue. 2. Build a hero and villain matchup suited for a specific environment or element, for example an ice-powered villain and a hero with flamethrowers, or a villain who causes rockslides and a hero with climbing gear. What do you think about these ideas?
Well that was WAY different from what ideas I have. As far as your ideas go, everything but the last sound cool. The last I tought they were already doing with the HF line. We could still run with it, but I did have a few ideas myself. Based off the vehicle contest, there would be different catagories. One being team transport, self explaintory, single or double ride, ridable animals, and attachable rides, like jetpacks and snowboards. Rules being that your Hero or villian actually has to be shown in the ride. If you don't like that idea, I wanted to see other people come up with heroes based off the frame I use for mine...

well I'm glad I've inspired someone, and sadly, I don't have steam cause my computer can't handle current game's processing level with the graphic card in it. As I said, gaia is the fastest way to contact me. I do hope your mother the best Squid.

All right I just put one up here he is: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/309653 BTW, Thanks Ro for reminding me of how good hero factory can be if we build our own sets. Also @Chronos Omega, this is not the one I was talking about last night (He'll be realesed next week) Enjoy!
  February 15, 2012
I've been waiting for my mom to get back from the hospital. (I needed breez 4.0 and rocka 4.0) BTW what your steam account name for you and Ro (if he has one). also I'll give you a hint his colours will be purple, green, gold, and a little bit of white!
  February 15, 2012
I've got Steam. :) Vortus, when are you putting up the hero?

Actually, yea, I ain't gonna stop you, I would love to see what I inspired! Just say it's fan art, that's how most people get away with it ;) As for contacting me, if you have a gaiaonline account, look up Hellgrim03, that's the quickest way to contact me.
  February 15, 2012
Thanks Chronos Omega, I'm actually trying to post one today (is that okay with you Ro).
  February 15, 2012
Well Overlord Squid, if Ro didn't mind, you probably could make some heroes and then say "these are inspired by Ro Garcia's heroes", link to his page, and not have them be canon characters. Either that or kill them off quickly.

Where would be a safe place to tell you my e-mail. I'll respond as quickly as possible.

Quoting Lord Vortus (Overlord Squid) Good Job! Do you mind if I make a series of heroes based on (and linked to) your story?
well I'm flattered someone finds it interesting enough, and I would agree to it, BUT I'm still working on the story myself, so really I don't think it's fair to do that to you. I mean I hate it when I made a fan-fic of a storyline that I enjoy, and then as the seris progresses, something gets thrown in there and it completely changes and nullifies everything you worked on in your Fan-fic. Perhaps if you like we exchanged e-mails or if there is a forum you like, like gaia online being my favorite. Then we could discuss things further, maybe even help each other out with our stories, cause that would really be cool. ^_^

Quoting jacob manahan i'm not huge on hf mocs, but i like this one. its a lot more unique then some i've seen color scheme definatly makes him pop out. over all great job!
Why thank you. You know, your Jaivonn's sword is a sorce of inspiration for for Praxis's sword that you'll see in the Devour Tusk page. I didn't want to copy yours, and I only glimpsed at it, so sorry I didn't give you credit where it was due until just now =_=; Sorry~ But it's great to see you and the other two good builders commenting on my work.

Quoting Callan Lord of Fire While I agree with Chronos, this sure is a top notch hero! Better than most average ones, I'm loving that chest technique! Bravo! :D
Thanks, this chest plate as well as his torso chassis, outta all his part is actually the only original parts when I frist built him. He originally was a rearranged Explode, and over time, more and more suitalbe part where added and replaced until what you see now is the final Praxis. ^_^

Quoting Chronos Omega Looks great, nice idea with the hidden Core. I think the colors are maybe a bit wonky, but otherwise he's very good! Would you mind taking a look at some of my own Hero Factory MOCs?
Yeah, the color scheme is a bit all over the place, it was due to the lack of parts I had, but now I've grown attached to it. As for looking at your MOCs, I certainly will
