You can see the sheer size of it in comparison to my other dragons. An entire army of minifigs could ride on it.
Specs:
pieces - 1787 Bricks
length - 165 knobs (1.32 meters ~ 4.33 feet)
wing span - 224 knobs (1.79 meters ~ 5.87 feet)
Synopsis: The purpose of this study was to gain some experience with limb mobility, body structure and dealing with the amount of work that goes into building a dragon on this scale. Topologically, My focus was on using large pieces where applicable in order to minimize the total number of parts required for the set. Anatomically, I practiced techniques for maintaining limb movement, while reinforcing joints with multiple ball and sockets, hinges, etc. Overall, I am very pleased with the dimensions and scale of this dragon and I'm really excited to build my second draft.
Planned revisions for second draft:
Hypertrophy: Thicken body and limbs - continue to use large parts to minimize total number of bricks.
Refine details and antialias everything.
Restructure wings for aesthetics while maintaining strength of joints.
Possibly Move foreleg shoulder joints forward and lower, and thicken forelegs significantly.
Excellent dragon. Your ldd stuff is quite good. I am glad to see you posting on our group. Your dragon is absolutely massive. The background looks great with the creation. I like how you showed off its size by comparing it to the smaller dragon. Great Job!
