Around 2 p.m. this afternoon, fire whistles sounded out from four of Ticlaw's fire departments. Madison County dispatched received a call of smoke filling the hallway of the Campbell Apartments on Reynold's Street. Since Citizen's Hose Company was away on a non-emergency service, and Friendship Hook and Ladder Company was on a mutual aid call, ladder crews from Shamrock and Veteran's, as well as and engine from Ideal and the Light and Air Truck from American were all dispatched.
Shamrock's engine and ladder were on scene first, followed by American. Veteran's Ladder and Ideal's Engine followed shortly after. Crews quickly took to the roof and entered the building to evacuate minifigs. It took only a fire extinguisher to control the situation. A minifig had fallen asleep with a turkey in the oven. Needless to say,...the turkey was no longer part of their supper! Damage was contained to the stove.
In the above photo, Veteran's Ladder extended to roof, and Shamrock's Ladder to third floor apartment, the source of the smoke. The Main photo shows the ladder bed of Shamrock with ladder extended. To the right of Shamrock's Ladder truck in the alley, is American's Light and Air truck.
This is the first time minifigs from Ideal Engine Company used their new 2012 RNT engine(at left of above image). The engine only arrived last week, and the members of Ideal haven't officially placed the engine in service. They were waiting for decals and training on the engine.
Thanks!!!! I didn't have a lot of time to get the photos taken, so I didn't grab the firemen....so.....yes they are all inside. Since it only took a single fire extinguisher, maybe they all walked down the street to the coffee shop!

Really cool scene here, well done Christopher. The Shamrock ladder is my favorite :) But where are the firecrews? All inside the building?
Thanks for the comments....
The new engine isn't quite finished, so I only slipped it in the edge of the photo to show it off....:-) I hope to get it finished soon, as well as the rest of that companies engines.
