Gringat's true memories by now extend only to about a hundred years before the Destiny War. His time as a weapons mechanic on the Island of Poliaz and Xia are long forgotten, likewise his time as one of the Toa Vanembar in service of the now-dead Lord Poliaz and his viceroy Vanembar. Even the majority of his service to Mata-Nui as a Lord is all but lost to the ages, kept by the runic memoirs in the library of the Tower of Air in Bazryghan, one of the largest cities in the Matoran Empire.
Following Teridax's takeover, the Lords of Korrothis faced a chilling decision, and ultimately followed it - Korrothis would leave the Matoran Universe, causing a nine-fold Weavestorm (known as Tempesta Magna) Teridax would be forced to quell, weakening him considerably. It worked, but not without the loss of the Ta, Av, Kra and Onu-Nui. Korrothis crash-landed on Spherus Magna. Gringat lost an eye in the fighting that ensued on the planet's surface.
After Teridax's defeat by Mata-Nui, Korrothis was rebuilt, and the city of Bazryghan was built around it. Mata-Nui became the leader of the Weavelords again for the first time in millenia. Gringat and his wife Tyn were some of the first to follow Mata-Nui's plan of allowing the matoran race to produce children via kaitagenesis, and together they formed two - Tangri and Nilmador.
Gringat continued to train new toa, of which there were many. Many became Knights of Spherus Magna under Helryx and Artakha, while others, like Davix, became Archons. Gringat's job was harder now on Spherus Magna, as the world was far, far bigger than the Matoran universe, and its "Letoka" was far, far wilder.
By the end of his time as Letoka, he was the second most senior Lord of Korrothis, alongside Xalos, and a very respected (or hated) figure across the planet, be it by friend or foe of the Matoran Empire.
When vaults beneath the city of Drachen's Hope were uncovered, a being known as the Decipherer was awoken. It understood the work of the Great Beings, including the location of their "homeworld". Gringat was one of the few beings that had ever flown a spacecraft (Korrothis), and designed one (its engines), and Mata-Nui entrusted him with leading a mission to the new world, Iruni taking his place as Lenui.
733 years after departing from Spherus Magna... well, let's say "To be continued"...

This version of Gringat is extra special. Unlike the last version, this one I'm actually fairly proud of. He has wings - with feathers! Spent an age getting those right. More importantly, he looks more... dynamic than the old one. V-10 wasn't meant to be around for long, ended up being there for more than a year. Ah well.
There's a special version I'm posting my new self-MOC today, too. Today's my birthday. A lot of you have already sent me greetings and all, which is lovely. It's not just any birthday though; it's my 18th. I am now, officially, an AFOL. I'm ramping up the MOC quality a few notches now. :P Oh, and those Breakout sets? Expect to see their bits in a 'lot' of my MOCs in the future...

Wow, this is amazing. I love his spear, and when he gets the wings, I feel like he's sort of undead and skeletal like. But how big is he? I feel like he's a Titan, but I really have no clue how tall he is. Maybe you should have a comparison with an Inika just for reference. This is truly amazing. :)
Very nice work here, Gringat. I thought at first it was great, and then I saw the wings XD. Brilliant work there! I might make him sometime, as long as you don't mind him not being custom and not having those fins (never got Onua and don't have a Bricklink :/) Also, happy MOCiversary! It may be morning in Britain right now, not really sure, but here it's still today, so hooray for last-minute stuff! Finally, do you think you could give me some friendly C&C on my self-MOC? It doesn't even have to be a comment on the MOC, I just want more ideas as to how to improve him, since he's getting an upgrade in my series. Wow... great staff, Awesomely God-like wings... And a Superb body design... Heck, i love it all! Some of your ideas that make Gringat seem a bit more Human-like ( like his mask meaning he has a Goatee, and his Odd-Socks(every one needs some odd socks!) are really good. This is probably one of the best self-MOCs on the 'pages.

Number two, Gringat is an amazing self-moc, he looks noble and intimidating at the same time, very impressive, as well as your other self-mocs. I love Mechs. Number three, you are British. Hey Gringat! It's been a while; how have you been? I must say your creations never fail to impress! Hopefully I will have an official self-MOC created soon (other than Calvaus which really doesn't fit my character all too well anymore). Anyways, I'm out of college for the summer, and I'm gearing up for a building frenzy! Before I can accomplish this, I do need your help. I've been experimenting with posting music on my pages, but I have not been successful. Any chance you could give me some tips on how to do this? Thanks! This guy looks as great as ever. I think the idea of a hawklord is awesome, and the Zephyr Staff, though light blue, actually looks really good with the Moc. I must say, great job with your self-moc.
:O Happy (late) birthday Gat! Now, on the MOC. Your best version of him, and possibly one of your best MOCs. Both forms are very good, have nice designs and colors that just flow together. I like how you used the Quaza Spke things as feathers for the wings, they look very good. I only think the waist is umm... thin. Otherwise, everything is (tryin' not to use epic, very hard >.<) perfect. 5* and keep up the great work man!
It's great to see you again, Gringat! This new version of your self-MOC is absolutely great! I would say that the waist is a problem but everyone else already said it. Also, you may want to add more Mata red on the lower legs. Don't have to if this pleases you.
Other then the waist (Which isn't a major problem) He looks perfect mate! Loving the wing design, at first I didn't think it would fit him, but man it looks good! Also lovely work on the new feet and torso :D AWESOME!
Concerning the waist, I was a little skeptical of it myself, but my reasoning is that being "humanoid" isn't so important if my character isn't human. It's meant to hearken back to the toa mata, and the torso piece they had with the single flexible "spine" down the waist.
That chest is just amazing! Happy birthday as well, it's weird to think of you as an afol now :D I'm working on a tan moc that I'm basing (a bit) of your robot there (mezzinus, I think?) that coming out pretty good, so... yeah! Epic moc, oh and those wings are freaking amazing!
I have to say great job on the torso. I love the look of the red insets. The Arms seem like they could be a bit better but i love the looks of the wings. I also love the legs. Fantastic Job.
You know... I love this version of Gringat. I can definitely see how this is special. It just somehow shows, even though I can't explain it. The shape of the body is quite different with such muscular legs and that narrow waist, but it works really well together. And those wings are just awesome and smooth looking. Something I'd love to use on Monarth, however the shape and color won't fit him sadly. Overall, this is excellent work. And happy birthday there. I'm not far behind of you, as I turn 18 April 1st. Wow, he is absolutely amazing! The greebles on his lower arms and upper legs look fantastic! Thee new feets are very cool, and I think the "hand" on the back of his head is new, too. The pistols on his lower body greeble him very nice. The staff looks pretty cool! You've done excellent work on this! And I also notice you changed his sock color :D

This is an amazing version of Gringat, I'm loving those wings and stuff. The staff is perfect looking, yet so simple.. it's sweet. I could spend a little more time thinking of complements, but I think you know this I love this MOC ^-^ Keep up the good work, and happy birthday!

Okay. Now, I've actually looked at it. I absolutely love it. His new staff confuzzles me though. oh well. The wings are a perfect fit for him. They have the feather effect that you wanted I assure you. I think this passes Shadow in awesomeness.

Wow, where to begin... I thought Gringat V10 was beyond my level, but this is incredible! I'm not sure if the new staff and heartlight go well with him, but they're really well implemented! The waistcape doesn't really work IMO, 'cause of the thin-ness of his waist. But that's seriously as much as I can critique. The whole MOC is beautifully put together and just looks sooooo good. Those wings, are...immaculate. (Used a thesarus for that one.) Over-all, this MOC breaks the rating system. I would almost pay to see art like this! Anyway, on a different note, I thought I might ask you... how would Gringat like to be the King of Luna Magna? That's right, I'm building him. (I've been planning to for a while now.) I'm just asking if I can use him in my story. Please? :D Thanks for being awesome!

I really love the look of this. The wings are some of the best I've seen on any MOC, and the blue staff contrasts so well with the red and green of Gringat's armor. Happy birthday!
Man, 18 already? Congratulations on AFOLdom. This version is great, with the wings adding to all the epicness (that really brings down the amount of formality). The only thing I dislike is the waist. It looks a tad thin.
