Inventors of Gunpowder
While waiting for my brother to finish his current stop-motion, I decided to take a break from animations and put together an MOC. It is one of my better MOCs, so I hope you will enjoy it.
About this creation
This is my first attempt at the SNOT technique, and I think it turned out pretty well - with the help of my brother for occasional advice. I had this idea a while back, but just recently, I decided to do something about it. The result was a larger scene.

Gunpowder was invented, documented, and used in China where the Chinese military forces used gunpowder-based weapons technology (i.e. rockets, guns, cannon), and explosives (i.e. grenades and different types of bombs) against the Mongols when the Mongols attempted to invade and breach the Chinese city fortifications on the northern borders of China. -Wikipedia

As a note, the Europeans didn't actually fight the Chinese, it was just a thing I added to display the gunpowder's superiority.

Here, my brother masked this picture, as well as edited all of these.

A couple of photos of the scene without the minifigures and boat.

While taking the pictures, I realized that the overall MOC colors from a distance resembles the Boxcar Children MOC that my brother and I built for our sister! Doesn't it? :)

Nice :-) I like the idea of building the wall section in red. Makes it look very oriental.

Quoting LukeClarenceVan The Revanchist Nice! I like how the grass slopes down, and the building looks very oriental. I also like the SNOT water, I myself started a castle last week that will have some SNOT ocean. Great work!
Thanks. Would like to see it when you have it completed! -LB Senior

This is a color/lighting work of art. Whatever lighting you employed somehow made the colors rich and vibrant. Just an amazing look with mostly classic colors... who da thought! :)

A very tight, evocative little scene. There's more than meets the eye here and I like that.

Quoting DeTomaso Pantera An awesome little scene! Right up my street. I love the gateway, it's very oriental looking and the figs are placed nicely. I'd like to see more scenes like this pls LB Sr :-) I started building something similar to this but got distracted by cars. It's time to have a break from cars for me and let the minifigs out to play :-)
Thanks Detomaso! I'm glad you like it. Thanks for the comment; I'm really happy about how it turned out. Would like to see more non car MOCs from you eventually! -LB Senior
