New adversary for the CyberAgents

About this creation

B18 codename "Blaight" (portmanteau of Blade and Light) is a mass produced battlefield unit allied to UGov, the United Earth Government of the mid 22nd century.

Blaightes are basically mutant killers, designed by the xenophobic human-centric UGov to execute mutant and cyborg warriors fighting as part of the Human+ alliance.

Like most UGov units, they are piloted by "pure breeds" and respond to neurostatic inputs from their pilots. Neurostatics do not require mechanical or biological integration with the pilot therefore are not see as "heretical" by technophobic commanders. Neurostatics however is less efficient as mental commands are scanned electronically using sensors attached to the outside of the skull. Making these mecha less responsive than the equivalent CyberAgency built units.

Due to their neutrality in the conflict, CyberAgent units are seen as the enemy by many Blaight pilots, who count them as Human+ sympathisers. Despite the fact that most CyberAgent units are machines piloted by synthetic intelligences neither mutant nor cyborg and therefore not Human+.

Notes:

When I was making up the new back story for the latest generation of CyberAgents, I came up with the idea of 3 major factions. CyberAgent, Human+ and UGov. UGov would be purely human operated machines. Initially I was going to use more traditional vehicles, such as planes and tanks, but decided since UGov were the wealthy human "overlords" that it made more sense they would have access to the good toys, and gave them mecha instead. The less than human look of them is intended to be ironic and a throw back to the idea of these being developed from tanks. The main body therefore should represent a "cockpit". Since controls are almost telepathic in nature, the need for a windscreen is eliminated, instead they use external cameras (represented by the two clear blue studs either side of the cockpit area).

Since this is basically a brand new continuity, I've not tried to tie this into any previous CyberAgent cannon. So, for example, there is no connection to the alien invasions, time travel or demons seen previously. Though I have been thinking of ways to incorporate PowerAll into the story.

I'd like to have a balance between CyberAgent and UGov B-Series units, in so far as, if one side has a presence in space so does the other.

Still brainstorming ideas for the Human+ faction. Will entirely depend on my other projects whether I post anything any time soon.

Quoting ariklego ...The Director! nice! out of curiosity, to you have some actual story somewhere among your creations? if not, could you make one? I'd love to see how all these Mechs of your tie into each other with an actual storyline. :)

To be honest, no, I sort of make it up as I go along. I would like to start doing more creative writing, and this would certainly be a good place to start. But no, at the moment I haven't any plans to commit the whole story into a written format, I've so many other (unfinished) writing projects at the moment that this winds up being a low priority. I may share some of my other stories, if I can produce a relevant moc to go with them.
