Ostrich
An attempt at an ostrich in a rather small scale.
About this creation
This is my first attempt at modeling something from the natural world. I'm very low on bricks thanks to my recent spacecraft-transforms-into-quadruped-mech phase so he's not as detailed or color coordinated as I'd like. I think it looks like some kind of strange mechanical ostrich but here he is anyway, enjoy.

Quoting claw paradox you should see my Titanis; it's basically a killer ostrich! http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/347258 anyway, about the moc: the body is good, try a different technique for the legs.
Thank you, Claw. I appreciate the feedback. I didn't really like the legs either... Your Titanis is totally awesome. I'll comment on that page as well.

This has been filled out really well, and the Ostrich is very recognizable. A job well done. ~Thoy

Quoting StoveTop Creator Always amazed to see the uses people have for those cylinderical hinges! You could make alot of soup stock with that neck! Sweet design! :)

Quoting Benny Boy Very feathery, the feet are perfect, not too sharp or too soft looking, and I agree its a bit grey but hey, when you don't have the bricks you don't have the bricks right?
Thanks, Benny. It's hard to make natural looking things when most of your bricks come from Star Wars kits :)

It certainly qualifies in the Reallife animals group! Go right ahead Daniel! Mocpages needs more animal mocs :)

Quoting Dave Benson Awesome I would say! There may exist many who like the natural world, but to express their interest in lego is still quite unique. 5/5
Thank you, Dave. I'm glad you like it. Ever since you invited me to the Real life Animals Group I've been trying to figure out what I could make with my limited brick collection. Do you think this qualifies? I don't think it holds a candle to some of the awesome MOCs already represented in the group so I thought I should ask you first.

Thank you, Thoy, that means a lot coming from someone with your talent. Your Concept Technic Supercar is spectacular.

Quoting Romany Woodhouse You just keep them coming Daniel, well done! I really like this little ostrich - the head looks great, you've captured the body shape well and those feet look the part.
Thanks, Romany! I've been home sick so I've had some extra time on my hands...

Quoting Tim C Wow. You are like a MOC factory over there. Nice piece of work sir. The shape of your ostrich is perfect from head to toe. I love how the body turned out for you, especially the feathers. Their random, dissheveled look really sets the ostrich off.
Thanks Tim! I've been home sick for a few days so that means LEGO time! (always look at the bright side of life!)
