Agents got swagger...In the CIA, it's a party everyday!
About this creation
Listen to Weird Al's "Party in the CIA" (copyright 2011, Volcano Entertainment) while you view!
Building notes: I just had to get that out of my system. With moving to the new house, and then some much needed sorting (can you say MocOlympics?), it's been too long. I got Weird Al's new album, Alpocalypse, for Christmas (thanks, Mom) and this song got stuck in my head...So now, I pass on the disease to you!
Here's the main scene. I was pleased to be able to use those huge skate ramp pieces I got recently. Along with the airplane in the first scene. Jealous, Chris? (My brother has wanted that airplane for years, and now I have it! Ha-ha!) By the way, thanks to my wife, who let me set up a Lego area in our new house. A Lego table! She's the best.
This scene highlights a fun technique: using brown boxes for various wood textures. I've used in several times, but this is the first time I've shown it clearly.
I built the van first, about four weeks ago. Yes, it's been a slow project. My favorite part is that it is about 75% studs down, with studs out and up as well. Why studs down? So I could make the fenders the way I wanted, of course!
Lastly, thank you to everyone who sent kind wishes to me and my family. I posted in October about buying our first home, and now I can happily say that we are moved in and comfortable in our new home. Thank you God, for the wonderful blessing of providing for our every need!

I just noticed your son is looking the wrong way HAHAHa,
Yeah, we're just lucky he was in the picture. After the timer light is on, we go grab him and run him into the frame. It's a minor miracle every time we get a decent family photo!
Well that gave me a good chuckle! And congrats again on the house (and the wife giving you a place to build)! Great stuff as always from you sir! ~ Chris.

I was laughing too hard to look at the builds the last time. ... Could you do the ebay song!!!!
Yeah, you have to re-view the Moc without music to really look at it. I've done that a few times, too...E-bay song, huh? I'll have to give it another listen. I don't think I've ever pictured it out in brick form.

Excellent! Good to see you back in action, and the finished house! I bet you've got it filled already, right? Congrats!
Yeah - it makes me wonder how we fit everything in our old place.

dude i love wierd ale songs hopr u post more
No problem - I hope I do too. I'll keep an eye out for strange beverage songs for you.
This deserves another comment!!!!! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha HA!!!!! I was laughing too hard to look at the builds the last time. Excellent build. Just excellent. Ooooooh!!! Could you do the ebay song!!!!
That's the third time I've come back to this MOC just to hear the song you got stuck in my head. The scenes fit the song perfectly! The breakdancing guy is my favorite.:D
Hahahaha!!! That is classic, Weird Al's song is awesome but your builds really take it to the next level. Each one of those sets is well thought out and brilliantly presented. Fav frame had to be the one beside the pool with Phipson (Oops did I say Phipson?!) holding the sniper at almost point blank hahaha! Nice Wes! ~Thoy
Wow, thanks everyone, for the great comments. I have to say, this is the first time I've made a MocSong that I can watch over and over - it's so close to the original picture in my head when I started.

Neat! How'd you make the smiles?
I photographed the disco dancer (used in the dungeon scene) and photoshopped his smile onto the other figs. A bit of blur and reduced opacity helped them blend in better.

LOL! Great job! I thought you said you're yard wasn't going to be landscaped?
My backyard is a flat expanse of drying mud. All the front yards in the neighborhood were put in by the builders, although they used more bark and less grass than I'd hoped :)

Is that one agent with brown hair and glasses Phipson? Great work! P.S. The MocAthalon group's up...
Actually, as the main character I think he was supposed to represent me. Quad would insist that that's why I need a sig-fig. I did consider putting Chris in the dungeon ("interrogating the scum of the earth"), but I refrained. And I'll check out the main group, but I did already sign up, so please direct me if I'm missing something else. Thanks!
ha ha ha that is the first time i heard that song and i thought it is hillarious i love the dental plan. i love the CIA base and the stage was real nice
Excellent! The builds fit perfectly with the song, and the dental plan photo was hilarious! The MOCs are superb, and I especially like the walkway and the wall texture in the CIA building. Is that one agent with brown hair and glasses Phipson? Great work! P.S. The MocAthalon group's up, so head over and sign in. Plus, our strategy has been changed due to unforeseen circumstances...
Great! Superbly rendered! I love Al! Ya know... he's a graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. (That's where I went for my teacher training) I love the break dancing dude! Looks like you are enjoying that new house and have started the yard plantings! :)
This is great!
I love the song and all the scenes!
I love how you have that glimpse of colour, and each paragraph has a separate, cool scene!
Very well done, and nice house!
Hahahaha! Love Weird Al and his songs, and this creation does "Party in the CIA" complete justice! We've just got to make sure Chris Phipson doesn't see this...he could get some sinister ideas from it!
Go Wes! The music was awesome. It made the whole scene POP out of the screen. Of course you know that I'm not normally a Weird Al fan, 'cause he's kinda.... freaky. But your CIA scenes (all of them) were the best and the audio was a great touch. Great Job!
