This light aircraft carrier is based on the new projects of aircraft carriers for the Royal Navy (HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales. The LEGO model is capable of transport until 30 jets and helicopters. For self defens it has four Phanlanx CIWS and four SAM launchers.
Some notes of this model:two moveable elevators, smooth flight deck and hangar for better position of the aircrafts and the best of it - the center part of the flight deck can be removed for better acessed to the hangar.
Enjoy the photos.
About this creation
This is the control tower. The designers of the Queen Elizabeth Class decided to, instead of one big island (like the american carriers), make two small islands because that gives more operative space on the flight deck.
The first island is for air trafic contol and it has view to all the flight deck.
The second island it's for the ship navigation and control so the windows are at a higher altitude and it has a lot of antenas and radars.
Here the moveable elevator.
An example of the ships self defense system. On the left SAM laucher and on the right a Phanlanx CIWS.
You're probably thinking in what are those round pieces. Those pieces are the life boats, it's common to find the life boats on my LDD carriers.
I forgot to talk about the airwing. There are three types of aircraft(the two that are taking off are F-35 and the other two types aren't any special aircraft) and three types of helicopters (the ones with bigger rotors are the Merlins, the ones with two small rotors are the Chinooks and the others are Apaches).
As i see u used my way of moveable elevators. :) I like your carrier. My advice is that the hull seems to be to high. Maybe u can cut it a little bit at the underside. Lots of details.
