FDNY Truck on fire
Today a FDNY Engine responded to a smoke alarm at the Trump World Tower. After arriving at the scene, a technical defect set the engine on fire. The crew jumped out of the rig and began to put out the fire with extinguishers and called for support from other units. Minutes after that, other units arrived at the scene. The cab was fully on fire. Together the crews checked the alarm in the building and began to put the fire out with foam. This was successful but the cab was totally destroyed. One fireman suffered a mild smoke intoxication and was brought to the hospital. Another fireman said: "This was a hard day for the crew but they will continue their job soon with a replacement truck". The cause of the fire will be investigated. The smokealarm were caused by a smoker. There was no fire.
About this creation

On the picture above, on the left, you can see the original cab. I have remounted it on the chassis after taking the pictures.

No Lego's were harmed in this incident. ;) The cab is built with black bricks and partly painted with grey makeup to get the "grime" effect. So i can easily clean the bricks with warm water. The foam is made with shaving-foam. Have fun and don't forget rating and commenting ;) Thank you!

Did you mean the white foam? It's no smoke. It's the foam with the fire was put out. It's made with shaving foam :)

Quoting Phil N I agree, back then a lone Pierce in a department of mostly Seagraves made the Pierce extremely unquie. Say, didn't I suggest you build Rescue 1? :p
Yes, this is right. I think the Pierce is the best version of R-1 and unique. And yes, i remember that you suggested building R-1. :) I hope, i have more time to finish it soon. This rig will have also a completely new designed Pierce cab and body. So it needs many time to build it. ;)

Quoting Phil N Nice incident, creative way to use the 'burn effect'. BTW I guess we can all say goodbye to the Pierce that Rescue 1 used to operate, now they have another Fererra: http://firewagonphoto.smugmug.com/New-York/FDNY-Apparatus/3788976_XTQnxV/1/1298267350_qLcPrcS
Thank you very much for your kind comment Phil :) Yeah, i know that they have their new Ferrara.I don't like it and it's sad that the Pierce operates no more. But we can say hello to my Pierce Rescue 1 when it's finished :)

Quoting Paulo Rodriguez Putting Seagraves to shame??? man you crazy, this should have been those new Ferraras, please, the FDNY loves their Seagraves, the goverment loves low costing, cheap made, rip off trucks, like Ferrara.
I have only Seagraves Paulo :) So it must be a Seagrave for this incident. I don't like the new Ferraras. This is the reason why i build the Rescue 1 as a Pierce Arrow XT :) I hope this is a little comfort for you.

Quoting dimitri dimitri love it. but can you make instructions for your FD engines ... PLEASE . no one makes for fire engines and in like the worlds worst Lego build :L but it's fun to built ain't it!
Hey Dimitri, that's very kind of you that you ask me for instructions, but I can promise you nothing. The engines are custom build without any instruction or LDD file and it would be difficult to make one. But if i have time i'll do my best and try it out. At the time i'm very busy because work. So it will take a while. I hope this is okay for you. Btw, thank you very much for your nice comment :)
