Hello everyone! Here you see more of my older Hero Factory MOCs. These three were built and photographed last year, but upon the release of the Breakout line, these heroes fit in perfectly! (Also note that since these were taken last year, the photo quality is awful.) Anyway, enjoy!
About this creation
(Music doesn't necessarily go with the MOCs, just fits the mood I was going for with the backstory.)
Rho 44 Data File:
- Hero Team Rho 44 was sent out on the Breakout mission to take down the villain Scrapheap, who had been traced to an unnamed junkyard planet. While entering the atmosphere, Rho 44's dropship's internal workings were corroded by a potent acidic smog hanging over the planet, causing it to spiral out of control and crash onto the surface.
- One hero was killed in the crash, and the other three were injured. Luckily, the surviving heroes were able to sufficiently repair themselves, using the surrounding scrap, rubble, and assorted parts.
- One of the heroes, Shade, had lost nearly all of his core power from his injuries. Fortunately, the other two heroes were able to find a broken core recharger (a device like this hadn't been seen in decades, as their use had been banned for possibly causing Quaza radiation leaks).
- Tesla, the rookie mechanic, successfully fixed the recharger, and Legion (the third survivor) provided power from his core to jumpstart the device. Shade's core was successfully recharged, and the trio set out to apprehend Scrapheap and find a way off of the planet.
Garrett Legion is the strategist of Rho 44.
His left forearm was replaced with a cryoblade after the dropship crash.
Though well-armored and strong, Legion is not what one would call a tank.
Legion's cryoblade can be used as a normal blade, or fire a cryogenic charge a short distance. It draws power from the additional batteries on his back.
Here you can see the aforementioned batteries. Legion used energy from his own core to run the core recharger, saving Shade. In order for Legion to function properly, special sub-Quaza (like Quaza but more common and much less powerful) batteries were affixed to Legion's back, to power his weapons, so that his core power would only be used to power Legion.
Legion has taught himself in the way of the blade, seeing as he now has one at the end of his arm.
This is Samson Shade. He was a rather happy-go-lucky rookie until his injuries from the crash, but now is somewhat quieter, only rarely showing the carefree humor he once had.
After his recovery, Shade found this ancient sword amidst the junk piles. He also found the long angular carving that now adorns his helmet.
On Shade's back is a device that holds ammunition for his gun arm.
And if you did not yet notice, his left arm is now an oversized rotary cannon.
Shade has a unique fighting style, seamlessly combining quick sword swipes with bursts of gunfire, all while ducking and weaving around opponents' strikes.
Warren Tesla is the youngest member of the team. He has always been best friends with Shade, and was extremely distraught around the time of his near-death. After the crash-landing, a mechanically-rotating multitool shield was jury-rigged to his right arm.
Tesla is a mechanical and electrical engineer. He is also the team's tech expert, and at one point fixed a power-drainage glitch in Legion's subconscious programming that, had it been ignored, might have eventually killed him.
Tesla's wrist-mounted taser is useful for stunning criminals and repairing wounded allies.
This IHUD (integrated heads-up display) helmet was created for Hero Factory engineers to use, but was first field tested by Warren Tesla, as you see here.

Shield in Blade Position B.
Inner workings of the shield. The gear mechanism allows the weapons and tools to rotate around the perimeter.
Tesla's back.
Being a techie and mechanic, Tesla really isn't much of a fighter, but can hold his own if need be.
Yes, it is a coincidence that I posted two teams featuring members named Shade relatively close to each other.
Thanks for checking out my MOCs!
Coming soon in no particular order: -Vig for Luke's contest -Self-MOCs: Magnus and Zerk -Real Steel-inspired robots
Quoting Reaper the Ultimate .
These are cool Chro. However I'm acctually here to ask if I could join your small chat group, because based on some of our conversing about the Bio-Haven group, we seem similar, and I'd love to talk more to you and get some Bio-building tips. Hope none of that sounded creepy.
I actually don't have a chat group. If you mean BATcave, that's friends-invite only, and most of the people there don't know you. No, that didn't sound creepy. :P

Hey Omega, not bad builds, I think the blue one has the sleekest design outta the other two, and the gadget on the orange one is nifty. ^_^ by the way, Lady Vandistra is a few parts from done, I was wondering if I could get you to do a poster or two?
I love shade's rotary cannon! I think it looks great on him and I can't wait to see how those real steel robots will look like :) It's a cool concept with even cooler characters!!! Great work on this team :D
Quoting Lord Vortus (Overlord Squid)
Yet again, Amazing job on all of them! I think Tesla is my favorite. BTW, how's your progress on vortus?
I finished him, but then had to clean everything up in a rush and he was crushed. :( I'll rebuild him sometime soon, but right now I have the MOcathalon to deal with. :)
Really cool for older creations. I espiacally liked the names you gave them, Samson and Tezla in particualr. Reel-Steel robots will be VERY cool. Oh, I lost to Callan, just thought I'd let you know, but no biggee! Not gonna let that ruin my mocing career!
