About this creation
Happy Birthday Dr Seuss! (If you do not know who this is, go look it up.. right now!) Dr Seuss (March 2, 1904 – September 24, 1991) Dr Seuss is best known for his legendary "Cat in the Hat" and also "The Grinch who Stole Christmas". He wrote 46 children's books. They are all fun to read, and some of the words are imaginative. I thought a MOC from his "Green Eggs and Ham" book would be a fitting tribute. Also the 2nd is my mom's birthday, so this is also a birthday present to her.
Some pictures of the moc. I know there are supposed to be two eggs, but this was a case of building experience outmatching my piece collection. I didn't think I would be able to get pieces in time either.

The hand was the hardest part of the moc. I had to build a support and base to hold up the weight of the platter, ham and egg.

I tried to copy the whimsical look of the fork in the book. It turned out better than I thought.
This is the egg. I found some old space pieces that I used for the yolk, they worked very nicely. The translucent makes it look kinda eerie and poses the question "How exactly did the eggs and ham become green?" O_o
The whole thing disassembled with the book.

Outstanding! My favorite book as a kid was "The 1st of Octember" I have double-jointed thumbs too! Full 90 degrees. They have been indispensable with my Lego building since 1978. Fantastic build George! Thank you for sharing your amazing work! |
