  • Catagory 29 - Tropical Paradise

  • Ever feel the need to get away – like get really far away. When winter grips you in its icy depression and you would rather stay in then out, why not take a break from the chilling madness and escape to an extraterrestrial paradise. The colonial resort on Karibin-9 offers many familiar luxuries along with traditional and non-traditional vacationing activities. Perched on the edge of a lush jungle, with two suns and 24 hour heat it provides a perfect relief for those suffering from the cold dead of any winter. Two large water parks complete with oceanic replicators provide travelers with a complete aquatic experience. Perhaps shopping the malls stocked with exquisite goods from the far corners of the galaxy picks your interest, or for the more adventurous spirit there are guided tours of the jungle that teems with unclassified life forms. Ride the skies in luxury and enjoy the vast, ever changing views that the gliding hotel provides or stay on good old terra firma - you decide. It has theatres and art galleries, religious halls, and splunking expeditions. This exotic colony offers something new and exciting for everyone, and experiences can be tailored to your exact liking. Please see brochure for more details.

A micro-scale tropical space resort – a bit inspired by Legohaulic’s Callisto colony on the moon of Jupiter idea, www.flickr.com/photos/legohaulic/4836307670/in/photostream if it isn’t obvious. The mean looking guns are only for the safety of the colony and protection from any unwanted visitors....it can be a bit dangerous on the edge of space.

Couple shots with a different sun technique. Trying to keep it interesting.

    Nice!

I really like your first shot, but the glare in the others is really offputting. I agree about the scale being a little inconsistant to be believable, but it's a sweet looking build nevertheless!

very nice, LOVE the way you used snakes as geysers(if that is what they are) i also like the bumpy green lumps XD. A solid 4 for you my good man! PS: could you check out my alien base?

I tend to agree with Mark here. Excellent attempt at microscale, and I hope you continue your pursuits in this category in the future. Score= 3

    Very nice! Well-composed!

Fun idea. Some nice parts usage. With microscale I - just personally - like to see the studs eliminated (on that scale each stud would be a towering form). Score of 3.

Quoting Kevin J. Walter Nice take, but to less pictures for seeing details and make a profound opinion... sadly - Score = 2
So it's only a point away from burning your eyes out....really??? The main picture shows it all - nothing hiding in the jungle...

Quoting Sebeus I hmmm, risky take on the category I must say but very nice nonetheless
Maybe different - but risky I don't know - nothing stated it had to be a real world interpretation.

The trees kinda threw me off on seeing it as the microscale creation it was (Man those are BIG trees). Still, a solid 3 pointer. ~ Chris.
