The Battle of Brandywine Creek

This battle during the American Revloutinary War saw Major General Washington fight against the General Sir William Howe. This battle was part of a larger campaign in which the British aimed to capture Philadelphia-the capital of the American rebellion. The battle was a British victory and an occupation of Philadelphia.

An overview of the MOC.

The British Redcoats.

The scene without any figures on it.

Shots of the slope and grass.

Rocks.

I've wanted to build historical for a while now and this seems like the perfect oppertunity to launch my new series of MOCs showing important moments in British History.

Like Deff said before, the tan rocks are great, but there is much room for improvement. In the 2012 MOCathalon's judges way of categorizing thing, they'd probably call it a 'figs on a plate' sort of build. And if Heath was still judging this, he would probably call it 'figs and a rock on a plate'. In order to avoid this, you want to add a bit more detail, and maybe some action, like a firefight or something.

I really like the creation :) The dark tan rocks look very good, but maybe cover the upper studs with cheese slopes and 1x1 flat tiles. The tree is well done. Nothing to improve here. Okay, maybe more leaves, but I have no idea how. The ground has a nice layering. But the flat 2x2 tiles in green seem out of place. Also the lime 1x2 should be removed. The structure of the light bley plates is a bit messy. Maybe you could work on their positioning too. The rest is very well done! PS.: Borders can ba a nice attachement to a notsogood-Creation. Maybe these creations out of mine could give you inspirations of borders: http://www.flickr.com/photos/--deff/6869807545/in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/--deff/6851671163/in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/--deff/6795411593/in/photostream ----- I hope my criticsm was understandable and helpful. I really like the stark color contrast between the figs and the landscape.

I think it deserved a better score.... Great entry SG.

I like the basic composition, and the colors of the uniforms add some nice visual interest. On the down side, the build is quite small and pretty simple. Score of 2.

The rock work is excellent and nets you an ok score....the rest is just figs on a plate. Score= 2

Nice build but I think you could have taken a bit more time and expanded this more. Just short of a three from me. Score of 2. ~ Chris.

Mr. Gypsy, this is essentially figs on a plate. The landscaping was great though. Your Score: 2

Mhm, I don't know what I should think about it - sadly I just see a few marching soldiers... though even this characterize the situation - Score = 2
