I was stuck for inspiration and got thinking about past projects and remembered this little bit of nostalgia.
Way back in 1987 I didn't have too many transformers in my collection, I'd only just stopped collecting star wars figures. But I did have quite a lot of Lego, so I decided to make my own decepticons to balance out the sides.
This was my very first attempt at a Lego transformer, circa 1987 (I know it had to be around that time as I had the vhs copy of Transformers the movie and I'd seen adverts for the Target Masters, who did not become available till 1987).
It's a very (very) stylised boxy little jet, that transforms into a very boxy little robot. In the fiction I created around my own toys at that time, this was a nameless "jeticon" and part of an entire flight of similar drones working for the triple changer Blitzwing (who was standing in as decepticon leader until I got hold of anyone more senior).
I don't know what it says about me, that my first original transformer was a Decepticon, or that up to this point, all the Transformers I'd purchased from Hasbro were Autobots.
Bear in mind this is an LDD representation of a 25 year old design, created using a very limited selection of bricks. I could have made something far better with a few hinge pieces, but at the time I didn't have any. A variation did (briefly) exist that had a weapon, and another that took a pilot, but neither were really significantly better or different from this..
Just thought I'd share it for comparision as to how much both my MOC'ing has improved, and to show how long I've been a fan of LegoFormers.
Don't feel you need to comment, I know it isn't very good.
