Even though they have long since been retired from the fleet, Heavy Battle Cruisers still look intimidating and dangerous. I decided to build one. I think that I would rather have one of these as a flagship than an aircraft carrier. Big guns, scary looks, its what defines the battlecruiser.
About this creation
Once again taking a break from tank building, I decided to add to Navy Ships a Heavy Battlecruiser. I did destroy my LPD, sadly, to accommodate this, my tank, and The Flying Airport at one time, but the results are just so good!
As on my LPD the first two pictures, top and bottom, are pictures during construction.
Alright, so here is an angle shot of the USS Hawaii. It is armed with 6, 18in guns, with 4, 12in secondary batteries, two SAM launchers, and several Anti-Aircraft guns.
A front view of the ship, showcasing one of the main guns and the bridge. I opted out of building a complicated bridge using hinges, but instead I built a simple bridge design, that turned out well.
A blurry view of the mid-section. (more info in a few pics).
The rear main guns of the Battlecruiser.
A better view of the mid section. I took the gun designs from the LPD and put them here. They swing out and fire. Just above them are the (terrible) results from my SAM launcher system.
The assembly for the hull is similar to the LPD. But one thing I didn't show you that plagues this design is the front. Those click things are really stiff. And connecting them to the deck is near impossible. The back section, though, is connected to the deck, so it doesn't swing about.
