"Category 26. MOCing the 80s
Ah the 1980s, the good old days, Dennis Price's favorite decade! Build us a MOC that shows something iconic from the 80s. It can be a famous movie such as Breakfast Club or Terminator, a popular TV show such as Magnum PI, Simon and Simon, or Dallas; or famous music, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Motley Crue, Duran Duran. Anything you want, just make it 80s!"
I loved this category as soon as I saw it. The trouble was trying to decide on only ONE thing to build. The 80's were SO AWESOME! I had a few ideas but the more I thought about it it had to be Michael Jackson, they guy was so amazing, I had to build a worthy tribute.
Smooth Criminal video
Fairly happy with how this turned out, I made a fair few compromises with the shaping, some areas are attached by only one stud! His ankles are a little bit on the wrong angle but it was really tricky to get his feet to attach to the base without being at 90 degrees. I toyed with the idea of making him more poseable so he could strike some of his classic dance poses but then the shaping would be way more tricky. It's possible, but I think the key to these Mocatalon games is to build good AND fast. Spend too much time on one moc and you lose the chance to make more...

I was definitely hoping someone would do something to do with Michael Jackson when I saw this category and I'm not disappointed :D Althogh I wasn't around in the 80's my parents have influenced me soo much and I've come to know Michael jakson as an icon from that time. Nice work! |

Since you used a head piece for the top of the hat, it kinda threw me off in the first pic, but then when I read the description and saw the completely lit photos, I was totally digging it. Great MOC, fantastic song, epic video and smooth moves! |

Chamone! Really good job Shannon, the first shot just looks great. I can only imagine the fun you had with trying to get the whole thing attached at the angle. I'm off to find my white ankle socks and a glove! |
