Forced Perspective
A 2012 MocAthalon entry: Ninjiant and the Ninjets in the category "Forced Perspective".
About this creation

2012 MocAthalon

Ninjiant and the Ninjets

Category #27 - Forced Perspective:
Build a moc using forced perspective. The differing scales can be anything you wish as long as we are given the illusion of forced perspective.

The idea for this MOC came from this video:

To paraphrase the description in the video, "Normal perspective would make what's in the distance look progressively smaller, not larger (the rectangle shape of the white border looks wider in the distance), and since the brown container in the front appears larger than the one in the back, it gives a really bizarre and unnatural perspective. So the slightly wider ends of the white border should be in the front, not the rear."

I was a little confused until I got to the behind the scenes shots. This is probably the most original take on the category I've seen yet. Yeap, that earns ya 5 points! ~ Chris.

I am not really sure what I am seeing here... I watched the video and I understood it completley but I think your version could use some work. I don't know if it's just me but I think it needs work. Sorry, 2/5

Very nice build, man, at first I thought "you know, I don't think he knows how to build forced perspective..." but now I realize the error of that hasty opinion! Great work! :)

Not sure what exactly is going on with this, but I do find it valuable in gaining an understanding of forced perspective. This is something I need to try. If the smilies worked, I'd give you three. If they don't work, call it five.
