"221B Baker Street" 2012 Mocathon
Category #20 Vignetted
About this creation
"A MOCtley Crew"
Mocathalon

For this category I chose to do a vig of Sherlock Holmes' residence, 221B Baker Street. It is a rather cluttered house filled with all sorts of trinkets and gadgets. He is pictured here sitting by the fire with his friend Dr. John Watson discussing his latest case.

Sherlock's desk is covered with all sorts of chemical and vials for his chemistry experiments.

A pile of books lies on floor accompanied by various devices.

In the corner is his bookshelf along with his violin.

Dr. John Watson relaxes on the couch with a cigar in hand.

Sherlock Holmes in his favorite armchair.

His cigar box.

In case you don't get it, the thing on the center of the mantle is a clock.

Without the furnishing you can see the persian rug and the paneled walls better.

The candle holder technique used is something I have never seen before, so I may have invented it.

Thanks for viewing,
Ben

Quoting Jesse Sherer Can anyone tell me what piece are being used for the black cigars? Many thanks
It's one of the flashlight pieces that attaches to a side of a clone troopers helmet from the stars wars clone wars sets. It comes in black and in dark gray. If you're still not sure which piece I can find a link to it on brick link.

A bit too busy for my liking but a good job on the actual room, furniture and especially the candle holder - is it possible to get another angle of this?

Quoting Ian Spacek Great job Ben! I recognize a few of the techniques I use for my 1800s rooms too! Always a fan of this style! Keep 'em coming!

Quoting ~Mr.X ~ Did you read the books or even see the television program?
I have read the books and seen the 2 movies starring Robert Downey Jr. If it seems at all inaccurate that is because the majority of it is from my imagination and not solely based after either of those.

A lot of people have done this before, yet you managed to demonstrate great originality. I can't get over how the room is "cluttered," but still is aesthetically pleasing! Great work, and keep on brickin'!
