There are certain builds that you go all out on, and this just happened to be one of them. I started around 10 PM(don't ask) and finished around 9PM the next day after basically building non-stop. I dug through all of my legos, scrounging for bricks, mostly grey ones though. I din't plan for the back wall to have those huge letters, but when I ran out of grey, it just came to me. If you're wondering about the name, the black and white checkerboard pattern is the symbol of ska music, which this whole MOC is really centered around. It's loosely based on the House of Blues, Dallas. Enjoy. Oh yeah and check out this link to see one of these for real: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09q6cUlDJ_k&ob=av2e
About this creation
No figs except the crew. Manager on right and sound engineer on left.
Just a shot to show how long it is.
Sound check, gettin' ready for the crowd.
Where'd they go?
Inside!
The chef in his small kitchen
A waitress bringing drinks to some lame-o's on the second floor.
The bar with a great view of the floor.
The crowd.
The wooden side pieces gave me no choice but to put balconies.
Get that circle pit goin'!
The crowd going nuts.
The ska band, based off my favorite at the moment, Mustard Plug.
Small clubs like this one have short stages so that the crowd is right by the stage
I didn't know Spongebob was a Rudy!
My brother said the dude on the right looks like him, so I put him dancing on the stage, something my concert-going brother would probably do.
The horn section. The saxaphone actually turned out nice.
The crowd fighting to get on stage so they can jump off, like the guy on the bottom right.
The light board. Notice how the back wall has BW, which stands for the club's name.
The drum kit, credit goes to Wabi Sabi for kick-tom combo.
