latest of my non-transforming G1 Transformers figures.
About this creation
"Me Grimlock not nice dino... me grimlock king!"
when David Alexander Smith asked me to tackle a dinobot next my first thought was, "erm, how the heck am I gonna do that?", but this was actually quite fun. Overall the look is a little less G1 than I wanted. Yeah almost all the visual cues from the animated model are present (tiny hands on wings, glowing red sword, chunky feet, yellow/black/red colour pallet) but they somehow feel more like a parody than an homage.
The result is a quite Transformers: Animated feel, in terms of proportions.
I may take another crack at this, firstly the chest area needs to be MUCH bigger. I think he might also benefit from a heavier mid section, though I'm actually digging this ab-crunch thing he has going on.
Because of the character the feet needed to be heavy, but the result is he's got a few fewer poses than the Prowl figure who started all this.
version two will have much bigger chest, wider hips and waist, thicker thighs (maybe completely redesigned) and possibly a more articulated foot.
He also needs a gun, I know the TV version never had one, but the comic and toy versions did.
Might also try making a dino figure... but don't hold me to that.
well I'm still short listing possibles, but my personal fav by a long shot is Soundwave.
