Mecha Contests Contest #2 results: BiO.Andrew
These our my results for the second Mecha Contests contest. Credit for the picture goes to Thomas Z., winner of the last contest.
About this creation
RAS-12 "JackRabbit" Rabid Goldfish

Basic Design: 4.5/5 Nice design, I loved the single-hub wheel.
Flow: 5/5 It flowed quite nicely, and your proportions were good.
Aerodynamics: 4/5 Aerodynamics were quite nice and realistic.
Originality: 3.5/5 It kinda felt what you'd expect of a racer mech, but still high marks here.
Coolness: 4/5 Definitely one of the cooler entries, the single-hub wheel design paid off again.
Overall Score: 21/25
Excellent work Rabid!

Team GB "RoadRunner" Andros Tempest

Basic Design: 4/5 The basic design is stellar and very pleasing to look at.
Flow: 3.5/5 You could have gotten a 5/5 here if you had added arms of some sort.
Aerodynamics: 5/5 Slender and sleek parts usage, this thing screams aerodynamic.
Originality: 5/5 One of the more original entries I saw.
Coolness: 5/5 The long head design was definitely what got this thing a 5/5 here.
Overall Score: 22.5/25
You could have very easily gotten a 24/25 if you had added arms. However, without them, your entry is still amazing and very pleasing to the eye.

RMX-8 Aaron Yates

Basic Design: 3.5/5 The design was good, however it looked a bit too heavy around the chest region.
Flow: 3/5 The flow could have been better around the shoulders and mid-torso.
Aerodynamics: 2.5/5 The chest, shoulders, and arms look like they would produce quite a bit of drag, knocking your score down a bit.
Originality: 4.5/5 This felt very original and inspired, well done.
Coolness: 3.5/5 Pretty cool model, gotta love 'dem transparent pieces. :P
Overall Score: 17/25
Well done, Aaron. With some work on the main design and bulkiness, you could easily make this mech much better.

"Bagheera" Chris D.

Basic Design: 4.5/5 The basic design was brilliant, particularly the mid-section and the tail.
Flow: 5/5 This thing flowed marvelously, excellent use of rounded pieces.
Aerodynamics: 4.5/5 Very aerodynamic-looking.
Originality: 5/5 Definitely the most original entry, who would have thought of a creature racing mech? :D
Coolness: 5/5 I was floored when I first saw it.
Overall Score: 24/25
Chris, I hardly know you, but I've added you as one of my favorite builders because of this MOC. Awesome job, you win by my count!

CG-2 "Lancelot Blitz" GT Thomas Z.

Basic Design: 3/5 Your basic design was very nice, however the means by which the wheels operated left much to be desired. :/
Flow: 4/5 The flow was nice, until you got to the feet. The switch from rounded to a bar connected to the feet that holds the wheels was disappointing.
Aerodynamics: 3.5/5 Fairly aerodynamic, but yet again, the feet and wheels were what kept you back.
Originality: 4/5 Pretty good here.
Coolness: 4.5/5 The engine mounted on the back allowed me to overlook the wheels for this section. :P
Overall Score: 19/25
Nice job, Thomas, though I don't think I need to mention what kept you back from a higher score yet again.

Tempest Racer Mech Mk.I Ariklego

Basic Design: 3/5 Pretty good, though like Aaron's entry, it was very bulky and looked unstable. Also, you seemed to have forgotten that it is a racing mech when it came to the armoring. (I took an extra point off for breaking the 21 brick limit.)
Flow: 4/5 For the most part, it flowed well.
Aerodynamics: 1.5/5 You got a lot of points taken off here because of the bulkiness that plagued nearly the entire mech. The hips were probably the worst bit. :(
Originality: 3.5/5 Pretty original, though I've seen that armoring technique on a lot of your other mechs.
Coolness: 4.5/5 Very cool, lovin' that paintscheme.
Overall Score: 16.5/25
I'm sorry, but the bulk really killed it for me, arik. :/

Quoting Josh (legowarrior585) I like the firing effect for the weaponry Bio. It sort of looks like a scattershot. However I don;'t think the mechs look as cool as some of the other ones you have made.
... Josh, take a look at the body of the creation. This is my judging a contest, I was required to use that picture. ...

Quoting Nathan Brainbuilder how do you get a white background? I always have to do the tedious job of extracting it from the LDD backgrounds. Is there an easier way?
I get them without having to do anything, really. For the thumbnails, I edit the pictures in GIMP, replacing the transparency with pure white. BTW, this isn't my picture. It was a required picture for the judging. :P
