The Heavy Freaking Auto Cannon is inspired (and indeed, ripped directly from) the Nerf Maverick. Naturally we couldn't call it that because lol, copyright infringement.
It features a working slide and freely rotating barrel, which I took pains to incorporate.
Huge thanks to Nick for ironing out almost every problem in the WIP pictures as well as helping me choose the sticker job. This wouldn't look nearly as good if not for his advice.
And a huge thanks to the rest of my team as well for pushing me to finish these entries like clockwork to meet the deadline. Team Jigsaw for the win!
Too cool for words! I don't generally comment on Lego guns because they really aren't my bag, but this is just perfect! Just don't mistake those ABS darts for the foam ones now... you really could take an eye out! ;)
OMG, at first I looked at this and said, that's not LEGO, why did they post it. So I clicked on it to write a comment that went something like "I thought you were only suppose to post LEGO creations, not what ever the heck you wanted." But then I looked more closely and realized that it was made with LEGO. Amazing job, 5/5. I have to ask, does it really shoot the darts?
I've always wanted to do that! This is infinitely better than I could have done, though. I looked at the intro picture and thought you had only made the darts out of LEGO. That gun looks amazing. You made every part of it just perfect. I play with LEGO and Nerf a lot, so I've thought about blending the two. It's awesome to see it done. Nice MOC :)
Deftly done. The rotating barrel definitely adds a very unique touch. Just out of curiosity does the top slide have a spring like the real thing or is it just a slide? Overall executed to the "L" (of Lego)

This is incredible! I want it so much. Instructions pleeeeeaaaaase?
Hey, you're not suppossed to post non-lego creat.. wait a sec... HOLY COW THAT'S LEGO!!! I actually thought this was a real nerf gun when I saw the main pic, fantastic work! Especially the grip, I love it!
The comparison pic really answers the mail. You nailed the esthetic of the original toy perfectly. In the thumb nail, I thought your MOC was the real deal. Decal selection and placement are perfect. Good luck. Attack!
The only reason I knew it was lego was because of the mocathalon category and because it was on mocpages :D Holy crap, this rival's last year's entry by Legohaulic, it's so enormously accurate, it's amazing! Only one thing: I wonder if a basketball hoop may have looked better at the front; I doubt it!
Quoting JS Can
Perfection! Aside from the studs on the handle, you wouldn't know it is LEGO from 10' away.
I know what you mean. The studs were meant to represent the bumps on the handle of the actual gun, and they naturally stand out anyways. I don't know what I could have done to correct that.
Thanks to everyone for the kind words!
