#29 Tropical Paradise
It's cold outside, as Old Man Winter takes his toll on everywhere we all dream of warmer places. Build a tropical paradise you'd rather be vacationing at. Will it be a tourist hot spot or a deserted island? It's up to you, with no size restrictions, and as always the more detailed and creative you are....the bigger the points! Bring some beauty and warmth to those of us who are shoveling snow!

Here is number 1 out of six from me. Aprox 7hrs building time. PS - that rook was very difficult to stabilise without rubber bands... There a lot of details here, see if you can spot them all :)

Hope you enjoyed it :)

great water effects with the various colored pieces mixed with cheese for waves, and that cylindrical hut with the conical roof is great. Nothing like building cylinders and cones with bricks!

Everything just came together perfectly in this. The elements on their own probably would have been a fourish but the way you put them together with the irregular shoreline (and those WAVES!) and just... yeah, 5 points! ~ Chris.

I recently told someone he was the best in water themed MOCs, but I guess those waves are making me change my mind, they're the most realistic I've seen. The round shape of the shack is wonderful too, the roof looks very sofisticated (as a LEGO technique). What a great MOC, congrats Thoy!

Yes! Brilliant, it's amazing you managed to pull this out in 7 hours! (P.S. - Don't forget that we have until about 5:05 PM 31st to finish, due to the different timezones. )

That is the wave effect I was looking for!!!! And what about the shore, the wet sand, etc. Stunning, just like a postcard!! The roof of the hut is awesome too. I'm really keen on this one.

Quoting Daniel Brilliant I really like the solution you used for your thaching. I've tried a different one in the past, but it never worked well for round huts. Your thoughts about my thaching technique are of interest, if you wouldn't mind taking a look. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/312639
That is an interesting technique, as it is done in LDD I can't offer any help. I would have to see how the tubes flexed under real world physics before I could give this a yes or no. My instinct tells me it would more than likely be a no, I don't think the tubes would sit that well in RL. Keep experimenting :)
