GHOSTBUSTERS!
About this creation
CATEGORY: Ghost Hunters
TEAM: The Globetrotters
MocAthalon link.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I haven't been able to contribute to my team as much as I had hoped. Whether it be work or computer problems, I didn't have much time for building this month. With just a few days left, I wanted to build something spectacular to try and bump up our score.
After posting a bland and empty looking WIP on Flickr I got a bunch of great ideas from fellow builders (si-MOCs and Tigmon74 to name a few). Two of those ideas were to add the ghostbusters HQ and the ECTO 1. These two things alone made this MOC a hundred times better! Thanks for the tips guys!
I figured that nearly everyone would build something from the Ghost Hunters TV show (TAPS,GHI).
So instead, I went with the coolest ghost hunters around. The GhostBusters! They've been around since 1984 so just about everyone knows who they are.

First, we have the ghost, Slimer. This little blob eats everything in sight and leaves a mess everywhere he goes.

Equipped with Proton Packs, the Ghostbusters force Slimer into the trap.

Slimer nearly gave an old lady a heart attack when he jumped out of the mailbox at her.

Ghostbusters HQ.

The ECTO 1. Well, half of it. I'm no car expert so if it looks a little off don't freak out. I tried my best and used every white curved slope I have. Not bad but not great either.

Top half of the HQ.

Bottom half of the HQ.

I threw in a minifig here for size comparison. The building is 17" tall and 10" wide. It's the biggest building I've ever done!

Here is the Ghostbusters all on their own. From left to right- Dr. Peter Venkman, Winston Zeddmore, Dr. Egon Spengler, Dr. Raymond Stantz.

A close up of Venkman.

The proton pack.

And finally Slimer all on his own.
That's all folks! I'm hoping to get at least one more entry done before the end of the MocAthalon. I can't make any promises though. I guess I better get to work. Thanks for taking a look!

I think this is the coolest moc I have ever seen in my life! I LOVE Ghostbusters! You know this was the first movie I ever saw at the cinema. I was 5. Its because of this movie that I began a life long love of movies! Thanks for representing it so perfectly. Not sure what other details Blake wants... maybe a giant twinkie? ;P |

Like so many, I am befuddled as to what makes Blake happy, so don't hold that against me. LOL I was totally blown away when I saw you post this on Flickr and saw that you did both the front of the fire-house AND the front half of Ecto 1 per my suggestion. Not only that, you did it in a day; bravo, good sir! Slimer just makes me smile!~H |

I love most how the positioning of the slimer makes the white stud bricks you used for his eyes look like they have the annoying bulbous pupils that he has in both movies

Jason,
It's so nice to see a creation that's not over-detailed. You worked very well within the miniland scale to represent this scene in a way that's easy to understand and view. You've created spaces where the eye can rest and other areas that are meant to be focused on. It's too bad that some people think that a creation needs to be packed with detail to be great.

I am sure everyone is growing tired of hearing this, but some more detail in the creation would've drastically improved things in my eyes. Score: a very solid 4 |

There is a reason you're one of my favorites. Everything about this is fantastic. I was able to figure out who each of the ghostbusters were without having to say which one was Venkman. Ecto 1 looks good, Slimer is perfect. Very well done. I hope you get some 5's here. |

What an AWESOME build!! It definitely has the feel of the movie. The 'Busters look great in their different poses. And Slimer... is a very impressive design! The slime trail behind him is a detail most people would probably leave out. Thankfully, you didn't and it works. Excellent job! |
