Built for MOCathalon 2012
Category: 17. ApocaMOC-
2012 has come and gone, and those remaining on earth are surviving as best they can. Build an apocalyptic scene that clearly shows elements of the apocalypse. Anything from an iron-plated ambulance with a machine gun on top, to a impregnable post office building with razor-wire and zombie-proof doors. Definitions of the apocalypse can be anything from zombies, to aliens, to nuclear destruction, etc. Make sure it has clear 'end-of-earth' qualities about it.
Nobody really remembers exactly what happened. Needless to say, an argument was started, shots were fired, and it only escalated from there.
Before long, the human race had torn itself apart. What was left was pitiful. Those who survived constructed crude settlements, towers of any rubble left from the carnage.
We are a stubborn people, that's for sure. But we are selfish. The survivors of the war fought amongst each other once more, caring for nothing but themselves and their survival. In good time, raids and fights killed off the population even further.
I spend my last days on this ruined planet looking for any life. Undoubtedly my search is futile.
Many times I question if I have a goal worth fighting for. Often times I ask myself if I am searching for anything worth finding.
But I remember why I am fighting.
I seek the greatest treasure known to man in times of hardship.
An ambition that is often very difficult to see.
Sometimes it is difficult to grasp, and lies in the deepest corners of the darkest caves.
And other times it is found in the smallest objects, waiting right beneath our noses.
But it is always there, and is always ready to be discovered.
A number of times, many souls shall never find this treasure, and many pass on without ever looking for it's unmatched greatness.
For what I seek is the brightest light in the darkest of times. A gift unsurpassed by all in man's greatest times of suffering.
I go on to find this light in the time we need it most. I go on to find hope...
I'm just now getting a chance to see what everyone else did. I really like the way you shot this and kept it dark and muted, like a dream (or nightmare.) Cool build. Great job on the deconstructed items and all the leaning angles. Not an easy thing to do. :)
