The Battle of Peleliu, codenamed Operation Stalemate II, was one of the most brutal and controversial of the Pacific Theater during WW2. While it was expected to last a mere 4 days, the reality was over 2 months of intense fighting in 100+ degree weather on this small coral island. Four different mocs in the video represent various stages of this operation: the landing at White Beach, the assault on the airfield, the in-your-face jungle combat, and finally the climactic battle for the hills. This video is a tribute to those who fought in this nearly forgotten battle.
