LEGO custom Millennium Falcon
This is my almost 20 year old work in progress, my custom LEGO Millennium Falcon.
About this creation
I've always loved the Millennium Falcon (and apparently been misspelling it all that time, with one "n" - how embarrasing is THAT? Oh, well)...I guess my LEGO custom of this ship has become kind of a life-long obsession for me. First attempted in 1984, I then built a new one in 1985, and have been slowly modifying and revamping it since then (pictures of it's earlier incarnations are available in the "Falcon history 1985-2002" page, and closeups of interior areas of the ship also have their own pages. There is also a page of pics detailing the ship's current renovation).

A low-angle side/front view, showing the ramp, underside, and sidewall detailing.

   A higher, front/side view.

This is probably the best establishing shot I have of this custom, but unfortunately out of focus. If I ever get through the current (and painfully slow) renovation, I'll take a better shot from this angle.

A good overhead shot. I did not include the rear in the frame, as it was partially disassembled at the time.

A decent front view. Some underside plates were off in this pic, and some details have been changed, but it's still another good overview shot.

A high-angle rear shot, also showing some of my other customs in the background.

A good straight-on high-angle rear shot. The rear was the last part of the ship's upper hull to be finished initially, and is also (along with parts of the underside) the last to undergo the latest revamping (see my other pages for more details). I'll probably never stop finding things I think are wrong (or at least could be improved) with it...

Quoting Aron M. Hi Tobin its me again, say, why dont you upload any mocs anymore? Are you only submitting on brickshelf? Or did you just stop Lego at all?
Hi Aron, sorry it took me so long to respond. For some reason I never got an email alerting me to your comment, and I don't come by here much anymore, or I would have answered sooner. I unfortunately have not had much time to do anything LEGO related for a while, and the last things I did (Falcon mods of course), I put on Brickshelf and never got around to adding here. They can be seen here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=233143 Thanks to you and everyone else for all the compliments and constructive input over the years!

Quoting Caleb S very well built, but can you get into the inner workings?
Hi Caleb, thanks and apologies it took me a year to respond to this comment! You can see the interior of various sections of the ship if you check my main Star Wars page here: http://www.mocpages.com/folder.php/216 Many changes have been made since then though, which can be seen here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=233143

Quoting ZEO CMF i think iam going to remake my ultimate collector's millenium falcon with the aspects of your Moc in mind like the interior and cockpit. how sturdy is yours? can you pick it up without worry of it falling apart?
Well, after extensive rebuilding over the years, it is much more sturdy than ever and can actually be picked up without falling apart, but it is pretty cumbersome to do so. There are many more recent pics of this updated version on Brickshelf here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=27811 and more recently here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=233143 Thanks to all who've commented over the years!

Quoting checkers king did you make it with the set or with out?
No, as it says in the description, this same Falcon you see was first built in 1985, though with tons of changes over the years. Since there was no LEGO Falcon set until 2000 (and no Star Wars LEGO at all before 1999), you can safely assume that I built it before any of the six different official Falcon releases! ;) Other than the holochess table and possibly some random grey plates, I don't think I've used any parts from the original 2000 LEGO Falcon set when I revamped mine in 2001 and 2002, or anytime since. You can see its evolution from 1985 to 2002 here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=29749 ...and it's most recent reworking (all done before the release of the UCS Falcon) here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=233143 Edit: oops, forgot I added the official set's side airlock pieces in 2001, though they were later removed when I rebuilt those sections.

I know you don't know it, but I have based much of my custom Millennium Falcon off of yours. I love EVERYTHING about it and it's my favorite MOC on MOCpages. You inspired me to make my own custom Falcon, although yours will always be infinately better than mine. Can you PLEASE check out my Falcon???? It would mean so much to me.

I saw pics of this on some other website a while back. This is absolutely stunning! The details are incredible, especially along the sides. I think it's much better then any of Lego's official versions. After 20 years I think you need to move on! I think you got the talent for something spectacular - 20 foot mini-fig scale Nebulon-B Frigate? :)

i'd give it a five out of five, but it contains non-lego peices and cut lego peices. just wondering -- is your cockpit hallway very stabe? mine isn't. also, why din't you show a picture of the engine in the back? i have trouble with that part, as i can get no good pictures of it, and i am wondering how you built it . . . . . .good job! CHECK AND RATE MY CREATIONS!!!!

Another great Falcon and yet another custom I couldn't possibly come close to making. I like your use Kenner cockpit and the over all build of it. I wish I had that much grey and the skill to build it.
