M12 LRV 'Warthog'
The scene here takes place during the Halo Reach mission 'Tip of the Speare', and it focuses on one of the units that didn't accompnay Noble Team.
About this creation

The M12 Light Reconasaince Vehicle, commonly reffered to as the Warthog, is a force application unit commonly used during the Human-Covenant War.

The Warthog's suspension allows it to traverse any terrain type easily, with obvious exceptions (oceans, lava, space).

The Warthog can seat two soldiers, and the turret can be operated by one (the troop transport variant can hold seven soldiers).

The turret can effectivily annihilate enemy infantry and light vehicles, it is also usful against air units.

In this fight, the M12 has company: a squad of Marines and two Orbital Drop Shock Troopers.

The fight has casualties; soldiers, who fail to find cover, are cut down by Covenant Plasma.

The squad leader does his best to give effective orders. The 'hog will definately help them to win this skirmish.

A Marine Sniper is perched on a broken bridge. He has a view of the entire Covenant line.

The two ODSTs are fresh from their drop pods. The trooper to the left is weaponless and uses the weapon-cache's panel to block enemy fire.

This Marine just wadded through the river, so his uniform is wet.

//Fourth Wall Comments//

Figs removed. The build here wasn't going to be too awe-inspiring, the main focus is the Warth-og (that's how I pronounce it).

The broken bridge, there's one i very Halo game except CE, so I included it here. I like how it turned out, especially the supports.

Bridge rubble was kept to a minimum because I thought it would clutter the build too much.

The river. I've seen them made with transparent light-blue studs, or blue tiles. I combined the two to make a current effect.

My tan collection is small; that's why the river was included, to fill space.

I built fancy edges for the heck of it. If I were to bring this to a convention, the title could go here (I'd probably call it Battle Creek).

The left, the right side is a mirror image of this.

The weapons cache has, from right to left, an MA5B, one SOCOM Magnum Pistol, and two MA25s.

The cover doesn't work too well, it can only fit when weapons are removed.

Now unto the main fous of this:

Certain modifications were made between this post and the "I Hear a... Car" MocAthalon entry. Tow hooks/tusks were attempted, but the the result was too ugly for my taste. So I added a grill of sorts in their place. The interior was altered as well, and the turret platform was played with a bit.

The back end features a bumper, turret, and handles to access said turret from the sides.

The sides, which I am very fond of, have a unique aspect: the diagonal 1x2 tiles.

The hood studs were left un-covered simply because it would look better as is.

The rear, not much to say here except "look, tail-lights".

The interior has 'okay' details, but once I extend the length in the mid-future, I can the steering and consoles with better variants.

The turret, with three rotating barrels (ignore the fourth please). It was inspired a bit by Brian Last-name-I-can't-pronounce's.

Those grill parts on the back aren't accurate, but they look great.

The bottom is bland, but you rarly see it. However, if you see it often, hire a new driver.

When I was setting up the display boards, a certain someone decided he'd sprawl out on them. I took a picture and included it with this MOC because, you know, why waste it.

#1: CE does have a broken bridge. The broken light bridge inside the Forunner containment structure that is flickering. (Ha, ha). #2: That Wart-hog front is all JACKED up! It needs to be smoother, but I do like that you could do those hook things that I couldn't do:P #3: The wheels look pretty weird. They kinda' look angled and a little too far inside the 'hog. Anyway, overall it was pretty good.

the weapons cache is my favorite, the scene is nice, although really not your best, as for the vehicle itself, well, there are a lot of those on moc pages, and for some of them, vehicles are all they do, so it s natural they do a little better, it looks good, but, it still could be better, I m sure that you ll succede in perfecting this if you really want to, as I m still impressed by your superb interior, and exterior scenes, and you where not that good at first, I can t wait to see your next attempt! nicely done eric!

The warthog is good. A bit inaccurate from the side though. The front is awesome. Yes, that's a very small collection of tan. But it's bigger than mine. :D

Quoting Cody G And, since you asked about your dust editing, it looks decent. Try painting in multiple layers for a better effect (lighter and darker tones in the dust, and white splashes in the water). Then maybe experiment with some blurs if it still looks a little bit drawn on. Did you use the spray paint tool?
I used the spray paint tool, and the browns gradient.

Great Warthog! I just have one question, why is one of the ODSTs weaponless, while there is a crate full of weapons right behind him/her.

Maybe, but I'll improve the hood before I change other aspects.

Quoting Crazy Awesome (Inactive until further notice) Hood could use some work though.
I've heard this a lot, I'm not very fond of it either (that's why the title pic displays the back).

Quoting General Asher S. Great Warthog! I just have one question, why is one of the ODSTs weaponless, while there is a crate full of weapons right behind him/her.
He/She lost their weapon during the hot drop, and before he/she could get to the weapons cache, the Covenant fired a barage of plasma (that killed the marine).

Very nice! This is like the first comment ive made in months, so im kinda rusty on what's been going on, but this warthog's definitely a good one. I like how you decided to do whatever the heck you wanted to do with little details like grilles instead of strictly stick to the in-game models, the turret and the sides being my favorite parts. Hood could use some work though. Diorama is also very nice and the 'hog fits right in...and have I told you that you got a really nice base right there for that diorama? :D Great job!

Really good build, much better than my attempts. I like what you've done with the turret, I think I'mma use that style in my next attempt to build a 'Hog. 5 Stars, though. Or... heads. Or whatever.

Quoting Iceman . He seems to be sitting a little bit too high on the picture of the side.
If the seats were lower, the driver wouldn't be able to see out the front and things would start to look awkward.

Very good! The thing I don't really like is where the driver sits in the Warthog. He seems to be sitting a little bit too high on the picture of the side. It looks a little weird but everything else is good. I really like the interior. I think I'm going to get back into Halo soon. I'm currently working on a Warthog right now.
