This is my first posting, please be gentle. Inspired by Brian Darrow's Mega Core Magnetizer collection, this is my take on his Blacktron themed model. The original M-Tron model is a personal favorite ever since I was a boy, and when I saw his collection I knew I had to have one of my own.

About this creation

My model is pretty much the same as the original design, the biggest difference being a rocket platform instead of a crane. I always thought Blacktron were the toughest dudes in the universe so I felt a giant rocket was an appropriate choice.

I custom built both of the two utility crates while trying to keep the functions of the original design. The first crate houses a winch on one side and a welding torch which breaks down and stores on the other side. The second crate carries two large laser blasters which also break down for compact storage.

I added a pair of folding wings to the small ship which is stored in the back. With the absence of the crane the ship becomes the pack mule, loading and unloading the crates and 4 wheelers.

For the rocket I used the design of an old space shuttle fuel pod and added the rocket boosters from the new Star Wars Escape Pod set. I still wasn't satisfied so I added the upper nose cone portion, giving it that Saturn V look.

Hey there, nice build! I like the rocket pod the best. What I like about it is how the vehicle can set it down and launch it. That is a neat design, not to mention the vehicle itself looking pretty awesome!
