The Spearhead came out of my shipyard right after finishing The Raptor. I just can't help myself, not taking breaks between my projects. The Spearhead is a triangular construction where the hull is build from technic frames and solid sections. The idea for the shape is my own just taking shapes that can have sci-fi appearance. It comes with some interior, but not as much as my other ships. Most interior is in the belly, where the lasercanon and engine is placed. Weaponry is the main thing on this ship, one front blaster, 3 onyx laser canons and 18 smaller lasercanons. In the very front the Hypertraxx blaster projects a deadly beam that can wipe out most things of the enemy fleet. It is installed with lights to give a good visual effect. The idea was to use some 9V battery boxes with twin lamps that blink to create the effect. The ship just made the complete showcase, when it was shown at my first exhibition in Roskilde, Denmark. I hope You like it and please rate and comment, thanks:-)
About this creation
Here You can see The HyperTraxx Blaster glowing with light. The idea was to use some 9V battery boxes and twin lamps to create the visual effect.
A longside view of the ship, giving a sense of the size. It's 135 studs long, 40 studs wide and 60 studs tall. I think it weigh about 14 kilos.
The front blaster without light. Behind the trans dark blue panel in the middle, the battery boxes are installed and followed by the blaster itself.
9 smaller laser cannons on each side ti increase the ships firing range.
The Onyx laser canons is the same idea as for The RammCore ship. I modified the cannons by adding some shapes to the sides.
To the engine I also used 9V battery boxes to create a burn effect. I used green transparent bricks and put on top of the twin lamps. It gives a green kinda burn effect reflected on the white background of the battery boxes.
Inside the belly The HyperTraxx Blaster is placed. This is where te deadly beam is produced by unknown liquids and chemicals.
Some hallways to the engine.
The engine itself. Because of the tight place in the belly it was a bit too difficult to build it larger. I kept the interior line in smooth white colors as in my other ships.
The bridge. Up front navigation and hypercontrol.
The radar tower. I used some old blue panels and a tail with the classic space logo to honor the time when Classic Space was released.
Large ship, but other than its height, I could fit a couple of these inside the main landing bay of the Terminator (she has six others). That beast is so large from end to end, that she is longer and wide than an Excursion, Suburban, or Hummer. The main landing bay is over 40 inches wide, and narrows to 30 inches at the front (the landing bay is over 70 inches deep). The front of the landing bay is covered by a Lego block that ways almost 70 pounds. No supports,no glue, and yes I can put my full body weight on this block, and it won;t even budge.
I am up to the second ship of your builds and WOW!! You have a real understanding of construction. As an AFOL myself I have got so many ideas from how you build to get my Lego goggles on and go into a build frenzy!!
Keep up the builds.
Fun colors, and I love the sleek futuristic design. I also like the interior. So many big ships lack attention to the inside portion. The oldschool looking space lego people and bricks also lend this some nostalgia. Very nice.
This ship has epic written all over it! The colour sceme is great, a nice change from the tipical grey. I also like the big turret-like deck guns, you don't see many on Sci-Fi ships. There aren't many greebles, which isn't a bad thing (they are over-used). Lastly, that triangular open section on the front looks like a tactical weakness. =P >Eric
to bad that you dont see the lights in the lazer cannon and at the engine thrusters, as there where the first day at KF 2012, but its still very nice to see a solo post of this one, i really like the triangle shape, and ofcourse the color scheme,
men den er nu flottere i virkeligheden hehe,
One comment? ONE COMMENT? Soren, that is a shame! This build is easily some of the best LEGO capital ship building that I've ever seen in here or on the old LUGnet days! You are easily their equal with this build and your recent show in Denmark has cemented your status among the elite with LEGO Space builds. People, come on here! This build rocks! Comment on it, okay? Thank you.
